Basically, it's gonna be extreme stretching of the Nyan Cat song to make ambient music, and it's gonna be called Nyanbient!

What do you mean, the idea doesn't have legs? It has a catchy name! What more is needed?! 8)

course it has legs. your average cat has 4.
although i have no idea what a nyan cat song is.

i used paul stretch to stretch shuduppayaface to over 3 weeks in length. added reverb and delay, some random samples.
helluva party.

Paulstretch saved my music career from irrelevance. Now i can be sure my music will be played forever!!
All i need is an apocalypse proof bunker with a nuclear powered PA on top, connected to a daw that i will render paulstretch tunes on for the next 50 years. I could probably generate enough material to play us into the red giant era, but sadly gear only lasts so long.

The actual music is just a detail, really. The swanky and new genre name is what's most important.

My guess would be between x4 and x5...i expected nyanbient to be more like starting with x10. But it's nice to hear the melody in a hummable form for once.

I admire your efforts to push the boundaries but this can't be an official genre until Loop Masters release a loop pack.

I tried it with paulstretch and it sounded rubbish, so I went with Cool Edit Pro's timestretch algo instead. I think the melody sounds quite cool slowed down.
