Yup, looking forward to this. I have Superior Drummer and EZD - honestly I prefer the latter. SD is really pretty clunky to use - sounds great of course, but not a lot wrong with EZD sonically imo. And the midi is excellent.

One killer feature in EZD2 is they allow you to switch out instruments from other EZXs. Over at the Toontrack forum they said they there might be small limitations with that (different EZXs have very different mixer channels) but it works pretty well. Looking forward to the release, I think it's likely I'll abandon SD2 til it becomes SD3, and even then I might not bother... I tend to do most processing not in the plugin, and its dead simple in EZD to route to other outputs. Bring it on :-)

I'm looking forwards to EZD v2 also, It won't stop me from using SD2 but since I use quite a few of the EZXs just being able to mix and match without having to load up multiple instances will be worth the price/upgrade alone. I do use the 'X-Drum' feature in SD2 (which works well enough but isn't as optimal as it could be IMveryhumbleHO), I'm wishing that if it is implemented and speeding up workflow in EZD v2 then Toontrack will do the same with SD2. Its a bit crazy I find that their beatstation of all the product range can load its own format libraries/expansion as well as all EZX and SDX expansions!
So many other areas on top on the one mentioned that I am eager to find out how they've done, I might be a bit of a 'fan boi' but don't care, For me Toontrack have always delivered and keep getting stronger in my eyes, I'm certain this release will bolster that even more so

All the best to you guys and all as always :tu: :D

Those workflow improvements look promising. If they work as well as they appear to, I should save me a ton of time working up drum parts. :tu:

Anyone know the upgrade price? Sweetwater has it for 89 and the toontrack site shows 99 for the upgrade price :?

I'm waiting for Audiodeluxe or Jrrshop. They will beat Sweetwater. I also have a $10 coupon for Audiodeluxe.

Surprised there's not been more interest in this - now all the features are out, I think it looks really stunning. The ability to search for a midi groove by playing is one of those conceptual leaps that don't come along too much in our world. That suddenly opens everything up.

Pre-ordered.

Likewise.
Really looking forward to the 'groove search' capability, it should save me hours of previewing drum files.

What is unclear to me is whether or not this Groove search will include ALL midi libraries? Or does it only include ez drummer midi

All (and only) Toontrack midi, whether from EZD1, EZD2, EZX's or from Toontrack midi packs.

CIG CIG007 above seems to have the scoop on this - its pretty logical I guess. You can definitely import your own midi into the browser, and tap to find has a "drag zone" so you can search based on any midi source it looks like. Thing is, it looks like there's a ton of tagging in place - library / genre / type / time sig etc. Some of that might be auto generated, but not all of it can be. So I don't know how well any 3rd party stuff could integrate there.

I'm a real tagging fan - it's a huge part of why Omnisphere is as fast to use as it is. I've also always rated Toontrack's midi grooves cos they're a) played by real drummers and b) make use of the subtle variations in, say, hi hat playing that you can't get in GM. So for me personally I chose some time ago to pretty much stick with Toontrack midi. I bought one or two Groove Monkee things but they never seemed to compare favourably.

This new feature is most interesting to me because its like saying to an actual drummer "can you go boom da boom da da" and they use their talent to play it properly. It's the combo of intelligent searching, metadata and great real drumming, and I've only found that with Toontrack stuff (Sorry, I'm sounding like a Toontrack rep I know, but I genuinely think this is exciting stuff).
