Hi,

How do I delete my account?
I couldn't find anything in the settings to do this.

Thanks.
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Akai VIP = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

You cant, and I think Ben would be the only person who could, but I suspect its never actually happened.

Oh, ok. That would be why nothing turned up in a search either.

I suppose I could just do something to have myself banned then.

Edit your hosts file so that www.kvraudio.com loops back to 127.0.01.

Then your browser can't "find" the website because it's hardwired to look at your own machine instead.

Peace,
Andy.

Seems weird to me that you can't delete your account (is that normal?), but you can always just not visit if you don't want to be here any more.
Q. Why is a mouse when it spins?
A. The higher the fewer.

The futility of existence  :( :( :(
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

well, since all posts are related to an account, then deleting an account would affect the information contained in posts. it'd entirely f**k up the system to delete the posts, so there's only two real options; replace the 'post owner' information with something else (which means that references to who said what etc become nonsensical) or not delete accounts.

How do you think it should be handled though? If you delete an account, what happens to someone's posts? And how do you prevent people abusing the system if their 'history' gets eradicated?

And at the end of the day, why? If someone doesnt want to post here, they can not post. Only reason to delete an account is to hide something, surely?

edit : we have had a couple of folk meticulously go through their old posts and delete everything they ever said. Its a bit not-righter, though.

Good point.

I guess it's easy enough to remove any personal info from your account and be done with it.

As far as I know, only one person has had their request for their account to be deleted granted.
That did not remove their post's however, as they remained and showed as being made by 'guest'.
