Looking for a MIDI controller with an X/Y/Z pad

Hi guys
I'm looking for a MIDI controller that would have at least one (preferably more) X-Y pad (preferably X/Y/Z - responding also to pressure, that is).
So far, I've only found the Korg nanopad (one XY pad).
I've also found this old thread from 2010 http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2&t=303425 . The OP had the exact request as me.
So, did something like that appear in the last 4 years?
Thanks!

The Quneo has 16 'drumpads' each of which has X and Y position, and pressure sensitivity.
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

Thatd give you X and Y, but no Ztehlord wrote:iPad/Android with ThouchOsc/Lemur etc etc

Thanks for the quick replies, guys.
I would prefer not to go the iPad/Android way (I own an Android tablet, but as with all android systems, the latency is horrible). Also, it doesn't respond to pressure.
Quneo is nice (and expensive), but it's way more than I need.

Some of the Korg Kaoss pads output MIDI CC, no pressure though.
And then there's joystick game controllers, that can be turned into MIDI devices, .. O_o

I'm quite intrigued by the fact that at the moment there's only 3 MIDI controllers with an XY pad: Korg Nanopad, Korg Taktile keyboards and the Novation Remote keyboards, although there's a lot of plugins and stuff that features XY modulation.
Annoying

+1 takes a bit of comprehension to set up, but templates are growing and will do exactly what you're afterwhyterabbyt wrote:The Quneo has 16 'drumpads' each of which has X and Y position, and pressure sensitivity.

plus an app that converts HID to MIDI.
I use Bidule with an old Wacom; works well, but you can likely find a cheaper or free alternative.

couple free (and oldish) HID to MIDI options that may work you:
Windows: MIDITab - http://www.tinygod.com/productold.html
Mac: µ midi controller - http://www.musicunfolding.com/MU_MIDI_Controller.html

Thanks dformd
I already have a wacom tablet (for design stuff) but I think using it as a MIDI controller with one hand and playing the keyboard with the other would be awkward (especially during a live performance). It's one thing to move your finger over an XY pad and quite another thing to reach and grab the pen anytime you want to modulate something. IMO

I see; understandable.
Would the AudioMulch Metasurface be a better option?
Here's a demo video:
Note: it works with VST and AudioUnit plugins as well; Windows or Mac.
It's also MIDI controllable, AND with the appropriate plugin can control a myriad of outgoing MIDI messages.
Insert Piz Here's free MIDI VSTs may be your friend here.

Thanks for the suggestion.
I forgot about AudioMulch. It won't solve my problem (I'll still need a MIDI controller with at least an XY pad) but it looks interesting. I'll give it a try. I suppose it can't be used as a VST inside a another DAW, right?

Theres a max4live device equivelant to metasurface .
I have a Faderfox LV3 that has 2 joysticks and the Novation SL Mkii which has an XY pad.
http://www.faderfox.de/lv3.html
I use a vMeter which can control 3 paramters with 1 finger
http://vmeter.net/
I also use an iCreative that you can use the xy pad and the IR contol at the same time, effectively giving
X, Y and Z control
https://www.icondigitalusa.com/content/ ... controller
Not forgetting the long in the tooth iCube X system that allows me to connect practically anything
