I meant don't worry about it because it will probably work fine without testing. ;)
Ah, that I can agree. If it works OK as a VST under Studio One and Reaper, it will probably also work OK under Cubase.

I tried the Mac files with Garageband X
In Garageband i can select and use the JXchorus as AU.
Guess it's the file called component at the end or?
Havn't found the VST files in Garageband yet but not sure if GB support VST?
Should i' see more than the chorus effect?
I mean should the JX8P software synth show up anywhere?
I realy would like to have a software version of my beloved synth i had in the 80 on my Mac.
Do i need Logic?
I'm somewhat confused...

Correct.

GB does not support VST.

Not yet…

GB will do fine in the beginning. It can do a lot more than some people think.

We all started out that way… ;-)

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Ok, thx for the info.
One thing i noticed when turning on the chorus is that the sound is not as loud as before.

That's a known bug in this first Mac test rocket. It'll be squashed in the release version.

Here we go:

Please, don't expect a polished and fully functional plugin. This is still very much work in progress. I just want to see whether there are any major problems on some platforms.

Known issues so far:
  • Midi Learn is not yet implemented.
  • AU cannot yet import the fxb banks.
  • GUI needs some more cosmetic work.
Some things, which work different than in other VST's and might be unexpected:
  • Changing parameters on the GUI does not automatically be saved in the preset. To save a preset click the WRITE button.
A single (left) click will turn the program number red, which means that this program will be overwritten at the next click. While red, clicking on the program number allows to select a different target preset. A short cut to save the current preset is to right click the WRITE button.
  • Clicking on the program number while normal operation opens a popup menu to load a new preset.
  • Clicking on the program name allows to change the name.
Have fun, and let me know of all problems, you encounter.

This is an unfinished product and most likely the format of patches and banks will change. So, DON'T spend much time creating presets!

Cheers,
Martin

Martin,

I downloaded it but can't get any audio from it. Some of the GUI goes transparent and I can see right through the synth. Not sure if it's just me though. Using FL Studio 11.1.

Hi there,

could you, please, give me some more information on that?

Which architecture are you on Win/Mac, 32/64?

Which parts of the GUI go transparent? Could you send me a screenshot?

Are the readouts working? I.e. when you move the mouse over a slider, does the readout at the bottom display the parameter name and value?

I hope we can sort this out quickly,

Martin

working perfect in EnergyXT2 2.7v4 under xpsp3 x32!!! sounds great and the patch/bank system is superb!
made my favorite silky smooth jx8p warm pad on it right away!

-enabling chorus drops the sound level slightly, is this by design?

-can i make a brushed metal skin edition? :hihi:

Hi Martin,

Just had a brief play-through – AU, in Live 9.1 32 bit, Mac OS 10.8.4. No problems apparent, everything working as expected. A lot of fun with this instrument!

Also made a quick test in Digital Performer 7.23 (DP is notoriously finicky with AU:s) – passed validation with flying colours and no problems apparent.

Seems very promising on the Mac!

Best,

Joachim

Working fine in 32 bit Ableton, Win 8.1 x64.

There are some cosmetic things I have spotted in Settings. A typo (DETUBE) and some garbled text (above NOISE). Everything else seems to work fine for now.
