It's a granular synth

Post

My guess....
NORA= Not Ordinary Randomizable Arpeggiator :hihi:

So it's an Arp capable of some generative and random patterns.

Looks to be interesting, if the workflow is intuitive.

Post

It's a monophonic midi step sequencer built in Synthedit.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Everything has been coded in native C++. End of the raffle, Nora announced. Thank you! ;)

Post

So it's similar (in the core functionality) to what Catanya does ?

I don't know it, but judging by its web/videos, yes. Nora can do everything it does.

Post

"Synchronized with DAW"
i hope this means will not reset / re trigger the phrase on every chord change !

Post

Cool, I liked the idea/concept of Catanya when I checked it out, so I will certainly check out Nora as well when there's a demo available.

Yes, that's what it means. The Demo will be avaliable the next week.

Post

Thanks, that's great news! :tu:

Sounds great, the concept of Catanya is brilliant, but it lacks quite a few features. At least Nora seems to have a sync to DAW feature.

Does Nora support the following?

* Velocity for individual notes.
* Controller lane for automation data.
* A "note probability" (0-100%) setting for each note.
* Multiple patterns, with the possibility to chain patterns, or manually select a pattern with a key switch + random pattern selection.

if you are accept pre - suggestions : "Multi Channel"

Yes.

It's planned for a future version.

No. Can you explain this? How should it work? Why is this useful?

Personally I find this a key feature that Nora must have. We've developed the data structure to support this already, however we need to create the interface for the final user. Before we make it we need to think how should be the best approach. I'd like to discuss this with you after the release. ;)

We like to hear suggestions, and this will be implemented in a close future. Nora's main editor supports it already (not avaliable in the first release).

Could create some interesting variations. Sonars step sequencer has this feature.

If done subtly, this adds great variation.
