Does anybody know how to get this ethereal sounding lead synth which starts at 0.56 and continues throughout the song?

Sounds like a typical simple lead sound (sawtooth perhaps) with an envelope-controlled phaser adding an up/down articulation to each note.

Wow, that sounds hard, could you please try to explain it easier to me, because i'm a newbie at these things.By the way i'm using Fl studio and I guess that I should use the plugin Phaser, which i don't understand, so here I post a picture of it and maybe you can tell me what to tweak.

P.S. I also have a plugin called Phase Inverter, should I use it too?

Hi,

A 'phaser' and a 'phase inverter' are totally different effects, and have totally different applications.

Phaser (which is what you want) is an effect on its own, will usually have stereo effect capabilities. You'll become familiar with the sound just using your phaser plugin on another source. It has this 'gliding' trippy effect on a sound. In small amounts it can liven up boring samples, in high amounts, it has the effect in the track.

What the previous poster meant by an envelope driven phaser is this - do you understand adsr and amp/filter envelopes? Basically - the 'phaser' effect on that synth 'resets' with every new note from the synth, starting the 'glide' from its highest point. Some phasers will have this 'envelope follower' option, some wont. Im not sure about Fruity Loops since Im an Ableton guy - but this free phaser has what youre looking for http://bram.smartelectronix.com/plugins.php?id=1 .

I think youll get pretty far and get pretty good results simply using a phaser with 100% wet. But just experiment with the envelope section either in the above plugin, or if fruity loops phaser has it.

Best of luck
