Have to say - I'm a cautious fellow with upgrades usually and let others beta test for me. Didn't really hesitate in this case though - a) the benefits seemed very obvious; b) there's already print magazine reviews from hands-on copies so I think they're not over-rushing; c) I've had very positive experiences with Toontrack.
If I didn't own it, I'd buy EZD1 today to get the original kit and midi (10,000 grooves right there in what will be a paid expansion after the 6th), and if I was supercautious, just wait a few days for feedback before installing the free EZD2 upgrade.

The best price I found was on Best Service (80$), but the best deal is from Time+Space: if you order before May 6th, for 82$ you get the upgrade and a tutorial video for EZDrummer 2 from AskVideo that should be released on May 6th.blueman wrote:$99 or $89 upgrade, depending on whether or not you buy it at the Toontrack store, or elsewhere. I suspect a couple of the discount retailers will find a way to reduce the price even more

I did that once, for my monitor stands. Those guys (Sweetwater) are awesome! It's good to support the things you like; in this case, I'll probably get it from a discount seller though, just to save nine or 10 bucks

Pure guesswork, but since they're Chicago-based it'll be during their local working hours.syncII wrote:It's supposedly available on 6th May. I just looked at my watch and it's the 6th of May.
Anyone know when it will be available to download?

Thanks I'm sure you're right. I was going to try and beat the rush for server bandwidth.noiseboyuk wrote:

Huh - must be 2 bases, that nice long beardy chap I'm the screencasts said they were based in Chicago.
I do have a link to the time and space video thing, but no serial number yet. Away from base, so it'll probably be a couple of days til I can have a play anyway.

My understanding is that the EZD2 library is 18 bit, as opposed to 16 bit in EZD1. Does anyone know the deal with your existing EZD libs? Do you have to buy them again to get the upgraded versions?

Dwozzle - in the screencast they said most of the EZXs get upgraded on the main EZ2 update , and we'd get links if we need to do anything else afterwards (free)

No way! The updates for all existing EZX libraries are already available at your account - just downloaded them myself. Now waiting for the drummer...dwozzle wrote:My understanding is that the EZD2 library is 18 bit, as opposed to 16 bit in EZD1. Does anyone know the deal with your existing EZD libs?
