I assembled this bleeping device in Kontakt. It runs multiple step sequencers and makes some cute bleepings out of simple single cycle waveforms.

Requires Kontakt 4 or newer, full version. Download is only 650k. If you're tired of multi-gigabyte libraries, that takes almost no cpu and sounds great and familiar... it's the one for you.
It's not really about sampling, but since it's Kontakt, I guess it belongs in sampling.

I'm sorry, I turned out to be impolite. I appreciate the comment, thank you.
Apart from technical side, I hope you find this device entertaining, it is a little out of the box.

thanks again for an interesting idea - I am having some problems though
1.how do I have multiple oscillators running at once, at the moment I can only get one at a time, using SELECT just moves between them
2. how do I set rate and so on for each oscillator, at the moment I can only set them globally.
thanks, woggle

They are all running at once, just draw something in volume sequence, if it's set all to zero, volume is set to zero all the time, so it's mute. 'Select' button is a shortcut to quickly find which osc have some volume sequence defined, the bottom row of square buttons is used to select any osc.woggle wrote:1.how do I have multiple oscillators running at once, at the moment I can only get one at a time, using SELECT just moves between them
Rate is global setting. There is knob labelled 'speed' it sets relative oscillator sequence speed. Then changing rate affects all speeds. Now I have written all this, I realized, it is indeed fairly confusing.woggle wrote:2. how do I set rate and so on for each oscillator, at the moment I can only set them globally.

It is a bit of a riddle device and instructions are deceiving. Maybe a video can cast some light on how to make it bleep.

I was OK once I realised (1) you don't select waveforms for channels, they're hardcoded, and (2) you turn channels off by muting their volume steps, and on by activating at least one volume step.
From there things are still pretty complicated, and it's hard to enter pitches into the pitch lane, plus the interactions between the different speed and resolution settings are quite confusing, and then you realize each lane of each channel can have it's own transition and other settings. It's very complicated But it's fun to fiddle with, and it's great for atonal textures and oddball stuff.

Yes, it's a sort of drawback. I didn't have any clever idea how to make selectable waveforms without making more groups and more groups would mean even more CPU drain. Now when I think about it, maybe I could use velocity layers for this, if only I can find a way to preserve velocity in some different way.Sendy wrote:(1) you don't select waveforms for channels, they're hardcoded
Yes, it's for CPU saving too. 20 voices per note kills my CPU in Kontakt.Sendy wrote: you turn channels off by muting their volume steps, and on by activating at least one volume step.
Thanks. Tonal textures are not hard to get, if you use 'snap' switch next to pitch lane. Though programming a composed melody would be quite hard-core task.Sendy wrote:it's great for atonal textures
