A review at Rekkerd
A little thread between members at GearsLuts
That's all. But take also in consideration that it isn't really news... It was out in nevember 2012. Has the pack been updated as the independent products? It remains to check.
And of course the best should be not to search for a review of the pack but for reviews of each element of the pack. It will be far better to find them.
All are known for their excellent quality. So in my opinion... it's good to take it. At a condition... Do the updates have follow the same as the independent products.
And take also in consideration... the copy protection. For them, it's eLicenser. It's a no-go for some people, so if it's your case it will be good to know it.

I own Padshop Pro, Hypnotic Dance and Dark Planet, I find them very usable and fun to play with.
Retrologue is an amazingly underpriced plug, costing only $50, anybody missing a decent VA synth, that is the first thing to buy.
Halion Sonic 2, is deep and versatile, now coming with it's own inbuilt instrument moduls.
The dark sheep IMO is Triebwerk, that is maybe too limited to a specific dance style sound, not so versatile.

I don't have the addon packs (Triebwork, etc.) but I do have Halion Sonic 2, Retrologue and Padshop pro. Excellent across the board. I keep finding new ways to use them, which I guess is a testiment to how deep they go. I got these all at different times, but if I didn't have any of them now, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the whole collection, even for MSRP.

Well in my opinion nothing special, yes its reasonable for starting out, but why am I saying in my opinion its nothing special? Because you can get the same stuff if not better for free. Sometimes saving your money on VST's/Plugins IF you have an option to get something the same or better free is the a life savoir. Then you get to use that money on some gear you might be needing!

I own the collection. It's actually damn cool. I really dig Triebwerk and Hypnotic Dance but all of other instruments are really cool too. One drawback though is that the built in sound browsers don't play nice with Ableton Live 9. Other than that they are really fun plugins and they sound great. Worth it if you can get the collection for a decent price. What you need to do is demo them for yourself. I'm pretty sure you'll like them.

Hello,
#1 Here is a nice video on youtube introducing the collection. It's focused most on house music. But it can give you an idea of what you will get:

Yes in Live 9 the VST 2.4 version appears, which has this not very nice browser (reminding me of Rapture but worst because you can't move it around). Anyway, that depends on the DAW. In Studio One, the VST 3 versions appear and you can browse the presets with S1 browserOrbit-50 wrote: One drawback though is that the built in sound browsers don't play nice with Ableton Live 9. In Sonar, it was version VST 3 by default and without browser I needed to enable VST 2.4 in the settings to see them and then they appeared as in Live 9.
Best in Cubase (of course!) as you can see, search and rate the presets
I have only Retrologue and PadShop Pro. I don't know about others. Those two are great synths, I wouldn't trade them for anything else. They are excellent synths in everything, sound, presets, GUI, CPU usage and price! Perfect for me

Yeah it's weird. The "Rapture Style" browser works in Kore 2 surprisingly but not Ableton 9. But you're right. It depends on the DAW and the version one is using. And yes, the best is in Cubase.EnGee wrote:Yes in Live 9 the VST 2.4 version appears, which has this not very nice browser (reminding me of Rapture but worst because you can't move it around).
