Sound designer extrordinare, and the man behind a fine collection of affordable and beautifully compiled Kontakt libraries under the Hollow Sun name. May he rest in peace.

UPDATE: My apologies for missing the boat. I stumbled upon a similar, more populated, earlier post: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=412726

Oh dear, RIP Steve!

Post

My oh my, that is really really sad, RIP

Is this for real? Makes me sad. Old Hollow Sun site was hugely responsible in getting me interested in sampling and synthesizers. I don't want to resort to any standard formula, it just feels strange to read.

My thoughts go out.

I am sorry to bump an older thread but I just learned of this news today. I worked very closely with Steve on products produced under my company. I dubbed him the loop king 10 years past. He was a wonderful person to work with. He always had a kind word and useful advice. I will truly miss all the emails back and fourth. Rest In Peace, Mate!

Didn't know this man very well, yet he nevertheless reached out and touched my life in a very compassionate way. When my studio was broken into and everything stolen Steve began an email correspondence with me back and forth discussing life, living, music, sampling, etc, while simultaneously sending me all of the downloads for every product I had ever purchased from him. Amazingly he did all of this without me having to prove my purchase at all as he himself went through all of his back logs and found my purchases. Over several days we communicated and he was very very supportive and empathetic towards my circumstance. At the end of it all he sent me one final email with a message stating "Lets get your new studio started off with this" and he attached his entire collection of Music Laboratory Machines. Literally watered my eyes with gratitude.

Beyond all of this his sample libraries are absolutely second to none.
Who is "I"? What is "I"? This has yet to be explained.

Yes, that was Steve. He was always there for you and would go above and beyond. Such a shame. He will be missed.
