The dsp-Gplug is a synthesizer built into the MIDI-plug itself.

Just stick it into a MIDI-out jack, plug an audiocable in and your set to go.
No power required.

Only 5 days left on the indiegogo campaign.
Get it while you can.

Will the dsp-Gplug be manufactured even if you don't reach your $5,000 goal? In other words, if I pay the $30 will I definitely get one?

Post

Yes, you will get a plug just by claiming one even if I don't reach the goal.

I have 50 dsp-Gplugs ready manufactured and so far only 19 claimed.

Nifty :-) I have more gear than I use, and I'm dirt poor, so i don't expect to buy one... but this is still cool enough for me to compliment you :-)

I heard the soundcloud demos, and I noticed alot of fuzz and noise. Is this how the synthesizer output sounds?

Mabye not, but I guess you will need a midi keyboard with a dedicated power source. Not everyone of them comes with that these days, many of them take their power directly from USB.

No it's not how the synth sounds.

Those soundcloud demos are recorded with the mic input on my laptop.

Laptops today dont have any inputs at all besides USB.

Regarding the Power, the MIDI standard states a 5mA current loop.

So all MIDI interfaces have +5v on pin 4 supplied through a 220ohm resistor.

If not then its not standard.

According to the MIDI specs, there should be a 5V difference between pin 4 and ground for any MIDI OUT port to drive an opto-isolator in the MIDI IN port it's connected to. That's what this device gets its humble power from. The fact that the keyboard gets its power from USB is not relevant.

It's very cool, only $30 for the little plug version! If my midi guitar worked only one channel one and had any CC function it would be cool.

Cool.

Off topic, I think this is the smallest vst synth in the world: http://delamanchavst.wordpress.com/2013/10/21/minisid/
