What do you guys think. Slow support. They lost Wolfgang Kundras. Looks like they don't have Elke anymore. He came over from Steinberg and answered many users questions as far as studio one on their forum. Looks like they took his picture down. Check here-

They don't have Johnathan their product specialist anymore. Any cause for concern? I mean they have nice facility in Baton Rouge and come out with speakers etc but if they also put effort and promote more studio one it would be awesome but what do I know.

Yes, I was reading a post from Eike himself (on the S1 forum) mentioning he was about to leave Hamburg (S1 headquarters). However, I don't think the future of S1 will depend on this...

Yeah and coffee machines in presonus hq just suck with such coffee they are definitely going out of business.

They are certainly not pushing out much in upgrades. Last one was a while ago and had exactly zero features to bother installing it. Their support is attrocious, by design.

I've heard they are planning an update this summer, perhaps late July. Though there's been alot of talk of updates, feature request threads are ridiculous at their forums, with no substance lately. Who knows, good to see Bitwig has filled a large gap in my own DAW world. I'm pulling for Presonus though and hope they come through with a large update,I've invested in their DAW and have many projects in Studio One, none of which will suffer if they update or not, it's a stable DAW and I've got my $'s worth out of it.

The development team web page says...
...building the PreSonus core software platforms and products...
... which probably means they do a good bit of everything, including maybe coding for the StudioLive and any other associated stuff, maybe not just working on Studio One. Their apparent vision over the last 2+ years seemed to be making sure everything tied in together across the ecosystem, so I think that may be partly what's happening, not so much just putting out daw updates to compete in that one area. Looking from the outside purely as an observer, their longer term plans seem to be really ambitious.

But that's all speculation.

Not sure what's going on with Mr. Kundrus, but he posted a reply to a bug report on the forum last week...
wkundrus: This problem has been fixed over the weekend. Sorry for the inconvenience.

When the Studio One developers left Steinberg it was not the end of Cubase.

( Please Compifox, don't :hihi: )

Programmers come and go, that's usual.

I'm worried. I mean, it seems like something is going on. I have no idea who's who and so on.

I don't understand the feature request being ridiculous comment.

I don't get a pro-feature-focus vibe from Studio One. All the little ads on the splash page, the soundcloud and nimbit integration, the sound pack store, this is fluff that's always bothered me. I find it super easy to use, and I still open it first. And I can afford it. But I'm thinking about going back to Protools--so I can bleed money. In the meantime, I may try to give Tracktion a try. They seem very dedicated, and you can't beat the price.

Of course, if they come out with a rockin' update, I'll give it another shot.

If they are having internal problems then there isn't much we can do. I like to chat, but in the end it's kinda useless if they don't have the personnel to keep up with the demands.

Live is a little the same. 9.1.2 fixes very little from 9.1.1 for the average user, kinda introduced some issues for some, and 9.1.3b is like "really, is that all you are doing?"

I dunno, hosts....gotta work around/within'/over/under them :hihi:

Yes, I mean in terms of company stability and commitment to development, is it only cubase and protools? And, I guess, Reaper?

Post

^^ (I know there are a lot more for edm, but I'm thinking about DAWs that are also sufficient for post-production work (err, of which Studio One is not one)).

double post. grrr I wish we could go back to the "EDIT" and "Quote" buttons. I keep quoting myself by mistake. :hihi:

Lots of guys still making good regular money with their PT 7 rigs or with Cubase 5 or whatever.

It's mostly the EDM daw whores who stress over constant updates. :hihi:
