I stole a great many parts of mine, some intentionally, some subconsciously.
But I swear I didn't steal the picture idea from @funky lime!
And again, I really should've started this thing *before* the day of the deadline...

Another missed opportunity by myself with the Free-for-all. Just had too much going on with my daughter graduating from college; Oregon State...Go Beavs!! Hopefully I can find the time to listen and vote.
I do have a question regarding the rule that a piece must be composed specifically for the contest. I have several ideas that I have come up with that get recorded mainly so I don't forget them. Some are riffs, or chord progressions, or something more experimental. Can you take one of those ideas and expand on it or complete it for the contest?

Just close your eyes. You'll find all you need with your mind.

I certainly hope so!
There have been several time when I've had an idea languishing in my 'bits box' and a KVR theme has just sparked off it and a 15 second snatch becomes 3 minutes of music - then after the contest sometimes expands even more. Indeed some of my best pieces started out that way

It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!

I think there's a very fine line between re-hashing old themes, "re-visiting" old ideas and "stealing from yourself"? So fine, in fact , that it's nigh on impossible distinguishing one from the other!
For example, for the July comp I seriously consider "re-visiting" an old idea -- meaning, I probably only once before wrote a truly "effective" piece using polyrhythm (25 years ago!). And now I'm curious how it would work out 25 years later!
A couple of times before (though not specifically in the competition), I have previously picked up on old modes of working in a similar fashion, crafting a completely new piece around other old sets basic structures -- curious how those ideas would work out using all the possibilities of modern technology. (I.e. not stuck with an Ensonic SQ-1, a Roland U-110 and a 4-track cassette tape deck!)
So far, I actually think the old versions have generally won out. But let's see if it'll produce something worthwhile this time around...!

@funkylime's submission was fine for me a few days ago, but it looks like there's something weird going on with the site now.
If it doesn't come back soon, give the word and someone can mirror his track. (me, if no one else)

A few hours later, looks like @funkylime's track is still down. I found the time to mirror it:

EDIT: I also put the mirror link in the original entry post. Perhaps @farlukar's scraper site will pick it up soon, too!

Please do
I see you've made over 20 posts so you're good to go - that limit is only there to stop fakers messing up the voting.
