I quite liked it. No signs of idiot actors and retarded story lines on the copy I saw. Lucky me.

Really? Well then, there you go!

A really good movie that was horribly uncomfortable to watch.

I finished the "wolverine"

Not a great film. Had some cool parts but also some real eyerollers. Make sure you watch PAST the credits if you watch it ;)

Try reading it. Cormac McCarthy doesn't use commas or quotation marks.

"A Field in England". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2375574/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Long , slow and very weird. If you liked "Valhalla Rising" (I did) you'll like this.

A neat demented movie.

Cloud Atlas. I liked it. Amazing all the characters they pulled off. Funny thing was the music put me off. There's some absolutely beautiful music in here, then toward the end it's like the composer ran out of steam and did this fake Casio choir voice aria that I was screaming to stop.
But I enjoyed the movie.

Let's see. "later with jooles holland"

Really don't like the pixies. I watched it for "chvrches"

Then "guitar center sessions" with "the 1975" whom I'd never heard of. Not bad at all.

How I Live Now.
What an unexpected surprise. Saoirse Ronan is an excellent actress and the music was great. Recommend.

I was supposed to read All the Pretty Horses in my creative writing class. We all rebelled and most of us refused to read it. The instructor got a whole class of us slamming the author for breaking every rule, telling him we didn't buy the excuse that the author had earned the right to break all the rules of writing... because it was nigh impossible to read.

In context to this thread, since my studio is useless in the summer, I've been watching Netflix. Star Trek TOS. Somehow I've still never seen quite a few episodes of it. Next will be TNG, since I've missed some of those too. TOS is embarrassingly sexist and illogical... especially considering that it's supposed to be groundbreaking on both subjects...

I have liked McCarthy in the past - I'm just not up for translating his writing in my head right now. "Blood Meridian" is great, epic - as is "The Road".

I thought it was pretty good, but some of it is certainly very ugly. I should reread the book at some point.

Earlier I watched The Plot Against Harry.

Now I'm going to watch Querelle.
