Hi,
new user with RC, I try to register notes with my midi keyboard with no result.
I work on Mac OSX 10.9.3.
I have configured the midi settings :
Midi in : IAC Driver bus
Receive, etc… checked
Midi out : RC virtual midi output
send Midi checked
I hear nothing when I hit the keys.
I have chosen an instrument in the composition window.
Where is the problem ?

Thanks,

Philippe

Hi Philippe,

that is not the right setting for MIDI In. You should see your keyboard in the menu, and select that.
Please open "Audio MIDI Setup" and go to the "MIDI Studio" window. You should see your external MIDI keyboard there. E.g. if your keyboard is named "Origin61", you should select "Origin61" in RC.
I am pretty sure that selecting just "IAC Driver Bus" won't work.
It is important to turn on your MIDI keyboard before starting RapidComposer so that it appears in the menu.

If you select a track, you can test if your MIDI keyboard works (all incoming notes are sent to the track).

Thanks,
Attila

Yes, it is a confusion with the MIDI drivers for Ableton Live. "IAC Driver Bus" has nothing to do with the MIDI inputs of RC.
