I use Vista SP 2 Intel Core2 Quad q8200 2,33GH.
Soundcard M Audio Audiophile.

May be my soundcard gives up, I dont know.

I use Energy XT and Studio On.
This is the problem.

All the native plugins coming with this DAWS don´t give any sound any more.
All third party plugs do.
BUT some presets of the nativ plugins give sound, for a moment, then it goes away again.
AND somehow the 3 party plugs sound a bit as if a flanger is used, which is not.

Things like Youtube and its sounds are running normal, AFTER I worked on it today to make it sound normal again.
So something has changed, and I don´t know what.
My systhem says, that the Soundcard is working without mistakes.
So...............................

Whats going on here?
Any idea?

Wow, that is weird.

What audio drivers are you using on your system? ASIO?

And this happens in both XT and S1?

That is strange.

Yes, this is bizarre.

I'm a computer consultant by day, and whenever really strange stuff like this happens and there's seemingly no logical reason for it, I set Windows up to do a complete scan of the operating system hard drive. In your case, you might want to do a scan of the OS drive and the drive the DAW and plug-ins are one, if they're on different hard drives.

Just last week, Alchemy wouldn't load on my machine. The error said the installation was "corrupt", even though nothing had happened to it since the last time I used it. I had Windows do a complete hard drive scan, and when it rebooted, everything worked properly.

Go figure.

Here are the steps to run the scan:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... for-errors

(Note that you'll have to reboot your computer for each scan. Windows isn't as helpful as it could be about this, but it will "schedule" the scan for when your computer reboots. If you don't reboot, the scan won't run.)

You don't have to "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors". This can take hours. Just run the basic scan. Once you've done that, let us know if your situation has improved.

As suggested, this could be a soft error on hard drive. It could also be hard drive early fail.

So, now I did the scan.

Bevore I did the scan and started the computer the first time today, all was fine.
The sound was greate on Youtube and any DAW and any vst runs greate.
BUT than suddenly the sound became choppy and loses quality very much and on the Youtube movies the spoken words disapered.

That may have been the situation in the first place, that the soundsysthem looses its qualitiy suddenly after working fine.
May be that makes it easyser to say whats wrong.
Thanks for you help anyway so fare:)

Sounds like something is sucking up CPU cycles, or an ASIO or sound card driver issue. Check to see what is running when the sound starts to get choppy.

It would also help to know the hardware and software specs for your computer.

You really need to post more detailed specs of your system down to what version of ASIO you are using. Not that it makes things much easier to diagnose but it gives a clue.

As for the screenshots, well I see you have Anti Virus running. Turn off G Data for a bit and try again. Also you have something to do with the Ask toolbar. That is notorious for dropping malware on a system. It could be that you are infected. But I doubt that so don't panic. Run a scan with Hitman Pro and MalwareBytes AM (both free) and report back.

Plus you have windows media player network bizness going on. Probably nothing, but you never know. It can be a beast sometimes.

Don't worry about the two flash plugins running. That is not unusual.

So, some more detailed specs of your system and report back after turning off your AV. And after scanning for possible malware.

Also check your HD health with this:
http://www.hdtune.com/download.html

And did you run that scan that planetearth took the time to suggest to you? All these things help.

You might have a hijacked machine or you might have a failing hard drive. Or you might just have incompatible software (AV and the like).

Do you have backups?

Firefox usually runs two instances of Adobe Flash.

But why are you running Firefox on your DAW--let alone when you're trying to do audio? Firefox and Adobe are sucking up a lot of your RAM and CPU cycles.

You say spoken words on YouTube disappeared. That actually could be a simple audio cable malfunction. If ground connection is lost, then you're losing Mid and are left with only Side (difference of left & right).
Try another audio cable first...

A wild guess, maybe some program locks driver samplerate? Try switching your DAW to 48kHz for a test, any difference?

Post

I made all the scans with all the apps that have been sugested.

Some mailware was found and the disc health scan shows, everything is running fine, nothing damaged.

The situation stays.
Native DAW plugins dont give sounds in Studio On and Energy xt.
Some third party plugs work, some don´t give sound.
Youttube sometimes works find, regarding its sound, sometimes not.
So............This is still strange.

Anyone else with some help?

You have reached that point. Where you have clusterfucked everyone's mind.

You are going to have to go back to the start and try again.

There is enough information here.

But why don't you try again from the start and say what is wrong?

Rather than us all having to go through this minefield?

Tell us what program you are trying to use.
What you are trying to do within that program.

What your current driver status is.

You know.

Just one more time.

Give it to us.
