Thank's guys, last night was so freakin' hot here, I couldn't find any sleep so I spent the night in the airconditioned studio with some reverb testing. Many of these VVV tracks were actually born at night which probably often influences their atmosphere and character.

@Sean Costello/Valhallasounds
Just in case I've made a collection of presets (about now 52) using exclusively the non linear mode
It seems there no way to create subfolders of different types, neither into user nor designer preset folder that doesn't seems to allow any subfolder directory
I assume this should be approved and then implemented ?

There is a "designer" sub-heading or something somewhere, you can make a folder there and they will show up. Have done it on Windows.

No ...on Maverick
i just underline they are subfolders in downstream and that might be the problem...

Dump your folder(s) here:Krakatau wrote:No ...on Maverick

HD (not user)/Library/Application Support/ValhallaVintageVerb/Presets/
it's different than the preset locations for VRoom and ÜberMod which are:
HD (not user)/Library/Audio/Presets/Valhalla DSP, LLC/ValhallaRoom/
HD (not user)/Library/Audio/Presets/Valhalla DSP, LLC/ValhallaUberMod/

Just for clarification : should it be ValhallaVintageVerb right after "Application support/" rather than "Application Support/Valhalla DSP, LLC/" ..?Sampleconstruct wrote:Dump your folder(s) here:Krakatau wrote:No ...on Maverick

If yes, i'm gonna erase them from any other location, because it doesn't work yet... (it appears in gray either in "user" or "designer" preset locations)

NEVER MIND...
...clearly the directory doesn't accept any additional subfolders, i think i'll have to deal with by adding appropriate indication in their title to avoid the creation of added sufolders ...(workaround founded !)

Couple of patches I put together while finger drumming (on the "Terrestrial Kit" from the Electric Vice Maschine expansion)...

It's still beta isn't it? Might be a bug, maybe better to report it to Sean via email?Krakatau wrote:NEVER MIND...

Neither Vroom nor Vübermod have subfolders in their presets menu, It seems to be inherent of their coding

Here one my favorites for the following reason, based on a (likely) misunderstanding of Peter Hammill’s lyrics
: http://sofasound.com/phcds/abblyrics.htm#3
in the end of one of his numerous freaky songs of early eighties : «The Jargon King » ( 2'29'' )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnn8VjSGAeY
…in where i suspect a hidden double sense because you might perfectly hear « here comes the rain » accurately mimed by the flows of uncorrelated echoes of these last words as if they where raindrops, I would even say this passage could mimes somehow a bad trip’s flashback quite expressively…
…common subtleties of this artist in many of his productions of these times
(BTW it was through some of his lyrics that i learned english when i was a teenager during late seventies)
Not as sparse and sustained because of the limits of the Non Linear algorithm of VVV (would be likely irrelevant for a vintage reverb !)...but as expressive when used appropriately :
You may enjoy this if you like ghostly effects on voices ...or other kind of signals !

Sorry if it's hijacking the primary goal of this thread, just listen on this song the guitar line A la Robert Fripp in the background of this song, something that the non linear algorithm of VVV could very likely emulate with appropriate settings, this though it was obviously made in backward recording, could be done in real time with a minimum of practice by any skilled guitarist :

Krakatau, you say you have 52 presets of nonlin stuff... I have only 26. are the other 26 available somewhere ?
This is good stuff !! I tried "Here come the Rain" on Aalto sequence... and MMMMMAN !! talk about aural transformation !!! (of course, I disabled Aalto's own Reverb)
Thanks, dude !!
(Sean, your followers, contributing their own presets - are paying you back... like, BIG TIME DIVIDENDS. the only problem one faces is managing all this wealth of endless sound treatment...)

Professional technicians are assessed by the abilities they possess.
Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.
