Hi,
Got a windows PC (w8) running a launch key keyboard & a Tascam 122mkIi interface.
I got a varied hum noise from the monitors..
I turn the monitors system vol to -6db from the factory set of +6db to clear it ..
Are Tacams bad for noise ?
Cheers.

No.....noise can come from MANY different sources. Unless your Tascam is malfunctioning it's most likely that something else is causing your noise problem.

I've got a Mk I 122 and certainly no noisier than any other interface in this price bracket I've encountered. It is a bit picky about ground loops and stuff when connected to other equipment but nothing that ground lift techniques or using a different socket couldn't solve.

i used to use us-122l and it was great while on a 32 bit system, but once i moved to 64 bit, it was a noise nightmare. my noise sounded more like crickets and cicadas though, like my audio drivers had disintegrated.

Sounds like a shielding issue, could also be pollution coming through the power cable.wetdentist wrote:i used to use us-122l and it was great while on a 32 bit system, but once i moved to 64 bit, it was a noise nightmare. my noise sounded more like crickets and cicadas though, like my audio drivers had disintegrated.
