Just sold my vinyl copy of Elecktroids' Elektroworld, to fund my purchase of Bazille 8)

How is that release date coming along? Still in public beta according to website: http://www.u-he.com/cms/bazille

It's as good as ready already bought it, just waiting on Howard Scarrs presets. :hyper:

Every time I've tried to demo Bazille I got what sounds like drills and things and thought it was good. I was trying to guess how to use it based on ACE's modular subtractive synthesis. After doing the DX7 FM tutorial in the manual I can now make what sounds like my memories of Sega Megadrive games music. Blew my Slate Digital VMR budget on it straight away.

The presets in the Bazille compettion download add many plucks that are better than any plucks I get out of the other synths I have so Bazille will be used in my trance based music.

Well, hehe, unfortunately the release of ACE 1.3 has unveiled two major bugs that have taken us all the time since to fix. We'll be hotfixing ACE shortly, once Duophonic mode works properly with the new voice management scheme.

Therefore, Bazille looks good for a release at the end of this month, early next month. That's a delay of about exactly the time this took :-)

OK, hope the fix will lead to less CPU hungry plug, after installing v1.3, I think it is even more CPU hungry than it used to be.

Well, as we know, anyone waiting for something good is not waiting in vain :)

But the intro offer of 30% off will then be good for all of July right?

Here's three patches I made with u-he Bazille each has a bit of Soundtoys Echoboy, Microshift and Eventide Blackhole reverb. Only the third one includes the use of Bazille's filters. Each sound is one instance of Bazille.
Patch 1 Phase Distortion, similar to Casio CZ, PD synthesizers
Patch 2 FM/Phase Modulation similar to Yamaha DX, FM synthesizers
Patch 3 Phase Distortion + Phase Modulation + Fractal Resonance + Bazille filters.

Ya know what would be cool? An email list for registered owners that lets us know when a new beta release comes out, a second (or 3rd) patch contest is launched, etc. I'm tired of trying to keep up.

Hehehe, that's just not really all that easy. There's already a few hundred registered owners, but not all have opted into receiving newsletters. The only way to know who did is to run a script over exported sales data - every time we do something noteworthy. But then, anything beyond 100 or so addressees requires us to use a newsletter service if we wanted to avoid getting blacklisted. By now we have someone on the payroll who deals with those things. He does the newsletters, KVR news items, website articles and a whole bunch of other stuff. Even though we don't do very many of these things, it always takes a few days to a week until something passes through everyone's eyes and opinion, even in a small team like us. At the end I think it's just really a little bit too much for us to do all those things if we want to stick to a decent design and message quality. Coming to think about it, this is what we use the forum and tweets for - to inform informally.

However, one day we might build an option to subscribe to a "short message" system into the software directly. So people have the choice to stay up to date with whatever happens, and without having to wade through a gazillion messages concerning other things.

Will it be out before or after August 1?

It would probably be good if the u-he website could be updated, stated now is:

"If you're amazed by what you hear, you can purchase Bazille now at a 30% discount until two or three weeks after release (estimated for July 1)."

Yup, that estimate sounds now a bit optimistic

You German guys sound as understated as the Brits. :D
I'm working on my version...usually it's something like a turbo that doubles the horsepower being described as "a useful increase in power...".
Sorry. Carry on...
