Been using Dubstation in conjuction with automation. Nomad Factory Echoes has also been working good. Nasty DLA as well.
In the process of finishing recording/mixing a 4 song EP for my friend's reggae rock band. We took two of the tracks and are using them as instrumental dub tracks
Look for a few songs in the music cafe in a few weeks
I did suggest offering one of the dub tracks up for dub remix with the stems, but they are not sure of it yet.

I was going to say this - these are awesome (but not VST)

This is what actually put me back on a quest for a solid dub delay plugin. I love these, but they are program dependent (Live only) and I wanted something to drop on my template (and am currently not a fan of M4L devices on my template due to initial loading times).aMUSEd wrote:I was going to say this - these are awesome (but not VST)
They did say they would consider a plugin version in the future and if that's true, I'll gladly purchase again.

Logic's "tape-delay" is pretty much the defacto Dub delay
Ohmforce's "ohmboyz"is pretty sweet, their Lfo modulation system is often overlooked by beginners
https://www.ohmforce.com/ViewProduct.do?p=OhmBoyz
For a dub all u need is a delay with a filter for the repeats
Map a controller on your keyboard for the rate and one for the feedback, you can then record your tweaking in your host as automation

If your plugin is a Synth-edit/synth-maker creation, Say So.

the Lee Perry sound...
the most authentic emulation of the Roland RE-201, in my opinion... i tried the UAD one, but it wasn't as close as this. And yes, i am very familiar with the original hardware.

It's not what you use, it's how you use it...

Ohmboyz is actually very nice for this. The filter res is great for nice feedback loops. I don't like the delay knob for setting times. There's lots of options which is great, but this is where I wish there was a dropdown menu instead of a knob, or the option to type in a time. I wouldn't want to lose the ability to modulate the delay time, but just want a quicker way of dialing in what I want.realmarco wrote:Logic's "tape-delay" is pretty much the defacto Dub delay

The LFO modulation system is pretty basic, but of course useful. I wish they had envelopes as well as an LFO. A dropdown for the LFO waveform would save space and allow for additional options. The morph option between presets is of course nice, and the preset system is extremely well suited to a dedicated dub delay, since it'd be easy enough to save the different time values to the presets and click as needed.
This too is extremely low on CPU and if anything ever screamed for a version 2, it would be Ohmboyz.

I can't get the AU demo version to appear. I would love to check this one out. I have no experience with the hardware version but this unit comes up all the time so I'd love to at least hear what emu has to offer.Chopper wrote:http://www.genuinesoundware.com/?a=showproduct&b=26
