Hi !

Just a quick message to know how is going the Presswerk development ?

I thought I read "nearing beta", that was 2 weeks ago.

Any news ?

PS : Still no word about the delay mode in Satin, with the values display like 1/8, 1/8d, 1/8t ?

Well, hehehe, we have found an excellent QA engineer. He spends most of the day breaking things. That's what he does. He breaks things that otherwise look perfectly fine.

Unfortunately he still finds a lot of niggles in Satin and Presswerk, so Sascha and I feel like in a sweat shop currently. We're doing nothing else but fixing random issues that may or may not be a major problem, but which yet have to be addressed before we want to publish anything.

About delay modes, Sascha implemented some custom value display, but I'm not sure whether or not that was mostly for Presswerk.

I think I've already implemented custom values/units for all existing parameters, along with making a few knobs behave nonlinearly.

Although, the delay-time thing is a different beast: the GUI script file lets the framework know about the corresponding unit (like Hz or msecs), but at runtime, the display has to decide whether to show msecs or musical measures (tempo sync or not). Dynamic/runtime switching units & ranges is currently not possible, at least I know no ad-hoc solution. (Urs, do you?)

We might address that, sure, but we have to outweigh what we can postpone and what not. There's already enough in 1.2 worth getting released at last, with so many fixes we owe the people.

You mean the one from 2013? That one's got nothing to do with the 'real' version. Basti indeed went real gearporn, some guys might be wetting their pants right away. That's why we don't post screenshots prematurely

Is Presswerk going to be like Satin where you can tweak almost anything and could emulate VCA, Opto, FET, etc?

I pretty much think so, although emulation was not a purpose upon designing it. It was rather variety and control.

There will be public beta and an intro price.

Thing is however, Presswerk is so powerful and flexible, we might need to add an "easy page" with great presets and just 6 knob that do the trick. The other, hmmm, 20 or so knobs and switches would be available in some optional kind of expert mode.

We'll see where it goes once Sascha is back from vacation.

Now that Bazille has been released, what happens ?

I saw the teaser about a new "simple" synth.

But what about Presswerk ?
