Been waiting on this release so it's disappointing I can't use it. The no internet connection issue is still in play. Anyone else with a failed activation (no internet connection error)?

I have to agree. After a half hour I was pretty disappointed but after further digging and fiddling
...Wow! Lot's of great sounds. The litmus test for me in a good useable amp sim is the availability of good clean sounds which Revalver 4 has plenty of. Also a lot less fizz than I'm used to hearing in the competition. Lots of nice smooth sustain...which I like. Great job, Peavey!

This software is VERY good; you will probably have to work to find your tone though--plug-and-play it is not. The tones don't always come easy, but if you are willing to tweak a bit you will be rewarded. :phones:

Well done, Peavey

i have to agree. Revalver 4 doesn't blow you away, but it does grow on you.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I still don't understand why you have to adjust the inputs and outputs so meticulously every time you switch guitars or try a new preset. If you don't, then you get that pumpy effect from exceeding the threshold.

Also, it's a bit frustrating to try and create a dual cabinet setup or stereo setup.

-You can't drag the modules around, so have you have to futz a bit to finally get the cabs in the right place to be able to have them pan for stereo.
-The reverbs at the end go to mono if you run a dual setup.

Yeah, the usability needs work here :?

.
That pumpy effect is clipping, there's not a limiter on the output. The presets were created by different people, using different rigs so, that was bound to happen. The best thing to do is create a bank for you, copy or move the wanted presets there and tweak them to your taste/ needs.

I understand, I'm just saying that it's usually the case with an amp sim to have those levels set once and then be done with it. It's a per preset situation here. Extra steps and all.

My short test of Revalver 4's Flathill amp and cab. Not the best example, but you get the idea.

Trying to figure out Vern Cantrell is about as cool a name as there is. Real or soundcloud!

I've never been able to understand why the developers of great amp sims like Amplitube 3 and ReValver 4, can't figure out that the input and output controls need to remain constant from preset to preset. I will generally change these settings when I move from, say, Lace Sensors to EMGs. They are so close yet so far away with this. As hibidy points out, the user is forced to waste time screwing around with the I/O levels on every preset! What a PITA

On the other hand, what an insanely gorgeous sounding amp sim... my new favorite! I really don't care how accurate the models represent their real world counterparts... I find them sonically engaging and inspirational.

It's difficult for me to put this toy away after I've pulled it out!!!!!!!!!

Great job Peavey! :phones:

The user should be able to lock the in/out levels after he once sets them up. There should be an option for this.
