In Thai it would translate to big monkey :D
You nailed it! That was the nickname I picked up out there. Hence...

(It's not all I picked up out there, but I digress...)

Usually the password is valid for a few downloads. Works for music (ie. vinyl covers have stickers that direct the owner to download mp3s, I remember Gotan Project provided downloads like that), so why not other data just the same. If you cannot find a service provider that looks convincing (that would last years), try convincing the publisher to provide a similar service..
Thanks. But maybe I should have explained better. The physical version of the book comes with a CD already; that is fine. It is getting the Excel files to the buyers of the Kindle version which is the problem. For some reason it doesn't seem possible to bundle them into the downlaod of the e-book itself. Doesn't make any sense to me, as it's all just digits anyway, but this is what I'm told.

Yea a bit of mix-up on my behalf there as well, realized it on the second read.. But there's digital versions too, could perhaps be included in a e-mail that is sent to the customer on purchase.

That's kind of what my original question is about. Except the Excel files, zipped, are around 80 mb, too big for an email. Anyway, the publisher claims that something like what you suggest is not possible, and they are basically a huge, immovable object, which is why I am trying to devise my own workaround.

Anyway, I need to investigate some of the solutions noted above first, they might work.

No no, it's just a ticket, a password to put on a external site that provides the downloads, not alot of people's mailboxes can take 80 megabyte zips. But yea, good answers already, look into those.

As I mentioned before, I think ShareFile probably has what you need but may be expensive knowing what Citrix charges for their other products.

You can probably find some good alternatives here: http://alternativeto.net/software/sharefile/

Without doubt, the simplest yet most genius method I've heard of!
