Which soft synth would be a good choice to make these types of synths? They are so awesome!

Post

NI Massive is probably the easiest/quickest option to make'em. :-)

Sorry if this is something you're already good at / know, but I think it's the synth programming and arp patterns that really make those sounds rather than the specific synths being used - probably more productive to focus on that I reckon.

But focusing on the sound, I bet they use soft synths like everyone else as well, but their Future Music studio tour was like gear porn - they love an analogue synth! The first one in your links is an Roland SH-101 and there's really good emulations from TAL and D16.

Maybe look into the Arturia range of analogue emulations as well as I think they're nice sounding and they also have a sale on. If you programmed a good arp pattern then preset surfed for a while, no doubt you would find something close quickly then be able to tweak to your taste.

A lot of the sound comes from the phasing and filtering (maybe also chorus etc.) effects.

I'd highly recommend DIVA as synth for it.

Here's a short example:

Not quite the same as in the examples you posted, but I think with similar characteristics.
It's from an older project, where I made some patches in DIVA.
You first hear one DIVA patch playing (some compression on it, chorus in DIVA enabled), then another DIVA patch (compression and a little bit of plate).
And then the second patch goes on and gets some phasing and filtering.

Edit:
Oh. And also in the oliver-example the notes have different velocity values (as you can hear how the cutoff varies).

Another thing I've noticed on Oliver arps - seems to be a hint of formant filtering going on to give some vowel vibes to them?

It's not on every one of them, but I'm sure I've thought that about a lot of their sound before.

DIVA is so great but so intense, it usually crashes cubase for me haha
