I'm looking primarily for free VSTs to do record warp effects - I know Izotope Vinyl's supposed to do this but warp is only enabled in the DX versions. I'm also aware there are several Reaktor ensembles that do this but right now I'm looking for other VSTs
I'm also interested in things that do a similar tape ageing effect - I already have Wow & Flutter which is great, is there anything else?

I don't know how much realism you'd want? You could try a (simulated) tape delay effect, just the wet signal without any feedback, and see if you can modulate the delay time.

Afraid it's not free, but TBReelBus does an outstanding impression of a knackered, warbling cassette deck (among other, more subtle tape effects). At 19.95 Euro it's extremely cheap though. The audio examples show the more subtle 'accuracy' side of the plug, but give the demo a shot because it can get much grungier when you pick the nastier tape models and crank the Wow and Flutter dial. http://www.toneboosters.com/tb-reelbus/

thanks - dosn't seem to be anything that does warped record effects then it seems - other than Vinyl (which has warp disabled in VST format) and a few Reaktor ensembles.

dfx scrubby can do some weird tape stuff if you play around with it. i used it to make a vocal track sound like tape that was rewinding. it's free, play around with it:

Guitar Gadgets from this years recent KVR Dev Challenge

I know the plugin is called Guitar Gadgets, and contains a number of guitar oriented pedal effects , but it perhaps contains the best warped tape effect ever.
"Microcassette: one particular tape recorder emulation, going a little too far maybe."
This one is real good. Play with/increase the input knob in the general plugin area, and then adjust the limiter and wobble/hiss on the Microcassette. All those controls interact with each other.
