Where are we at over five years since release?
Is 1.3 good all around?
What about new Uhbiks (Nuhbiks?)?
AAX?
Thanks!

AAX beta versions have been in our latest builds for several months, here are the most recent ones:

We're already pondering over new Uhbiks, but Bazille and Presswerk have priority.
As all our plugins are continuously being developed in parallel, and none are left aside while the others advance, the fact that Uhbik is 5 years in and still sitting on the lower end of v1.x has nothing much to say about the extent to which it has matured in those 5 years.

I'm not interested in beta testing.
How has Uhbik "matured," other than getting older?
There obviously haven't been any plug-ins added as was promised on release.
Have they been optimized, features added, etc.?
It seems poor Uhbie is always taking a backseat to one or more of your other products.
Can you at least share some of your pondering?

Many developments happen OS-wise or in DAW's and the latest builds usually react to this kind of changes, so the PlugIns always fit fluently into current software landscape. Old doesn't mean outdated.
To my experience, latest builds doesn't mean beta testing for U-He. If you dont want to beta test AAX versions, you'll simply have to wait until other have done the job for you. But as you can see, U-He is working on the issue you asked about.
To be more constructive, it would be good, if you could mention what exactly you do miss, what new features could be added, or what kind of module you would like to see.

What's always missed is the Uhbik-We-Don't-Speak-Of. It was an ambitious project that got postponed indefinitely when I discovered a conceptual flaw. I have since paved the way for bringing it back onto the table.
The other thing that's always missed is a compressor. We've got a pretty cool concept for that, but Sascha wanted to first create an Über-Compressor before going into the specialised territory that's required for any Uhbik-C.
However, what we've been pondering about is evolving the Uhbiks (and Filterscape) with a new design and some extra modulation options. This can't happen though while we're healing the scars in our code which were introduced by things like enforced compiler updates, Windows 8, Mavericks, VST3, RE, AAX, overly multithreaded host software and whatever else is making releases of new plug-ins and updates very difficult for us.

Glad to read thisUrs wrote: some extra modulation options.
Take your time, Uhbiks are good (but i'm silently craving for more modulations)

I may try some beta testing that's not beta testing so others won't have to do my work for me.
Wait, that makes no sense.
I'm a customer, not an employee, volunteer, intern, gopher, runner, tea-boy, candy-striper, etc.
I miss Uhbik X... I miss Uhbik C... I miss Uhbik A-Z minus the letters already used and Runciter (hey, that's got a rhyme).
How about a Uhbik chorus, for example... updated Fish Fillets as Uhbiks?
More modulations and longer times could be added.
Aren't there effects in the U He synths that could yet be split out?
Wait (again), now I have to come up with your ideas for you?
You trick me.
Anyway, I guess I'd just like to see some sort of bone as an early adopter/supporter (one of the first), and we all know where early adopters usually get the bone.

Companies need to generate cash flow. Unfortunately, there is very little cash flow potential in adding new Uhbiks, as opposed to creating new hyped-up synths. Sad but true.

I have to say I was excited about X, and disappointed it never arrived. But the Uhbiks are great as they are. Would love to see X and C though.Urs wrote:What's always missed is the Uhbik-We-Don't-Speak-Of. It was an ambitious project that got postponed indefinitely when I discovered a conceptual flaw...
I think a transients/dominion Uhbik would fit in well too, don't know what you'd call it with T being taken though, TS!?

Personally I'm still holding out for Uhbik Boing based on the Spring Reverb in Bazille

Unfortunately beta testing does not catch all issues there are. Therefore, being a beta tester or not makes no difference - one out of so and so many people will experience a problem, no matter if it's called a beta version or an official release.antithesist wrote:I'm a customer, not an employee, volunteer, intern, gopher, runner, tea-boy, candy-striper, etc.
However, doing something like we do with the Latest Builds programme catches many issues faster and while they're still fresh. A freshly caught issue gets fixed within weeks, major bugs within days. It doesn't make you a beta tester, but it acknowledges a fundamental truth about software: There is no flawless software. There are just seldom bug fixes or more frequent ones. We try to update things as often as humanely possible.

Did you mean humanely or humanly? (got a chuckle out of that, either way)
OK, today's suggestion:
Uhbik SATAN = over-the-top tape delay huber-emu based on Satin.
Keep the Uhbik discussion and Nuhbik ideas coming.
What's your favorite Uhbik?
What features would you like to see added to the existing ones?
I'd also like to see a long delay/looper/sampler.
How about Uhbik MATHS?
I'd like a simpler way than I have currently to multiply two signals or a signal against itself (put some HPF/DC offset correction in there, too).
Long live Uhbik!
