Hi,

I don't know much about electric pianos but I think I maybe in love with the sound of Hohner Pianet. I have EZKeys and was thinking of getting the Retro Electrics expansion which has Pianet N and Clavinet D6. Unfortunately, I think I dislike the sound of the Clavinet so would probably have no use for it.

I don't own any other sampler software. Kontakt is too expensive for me right now. But I do have th Kontakt Player installed.

I've looked around and couldn't reach a good decision from what I heard. Is there a Pianet sample you would recommend? Thanks!

If you don't mind the 15 minute time limit on the Kontakt Player you can try this freebie.

Thanks very much. I had downloaded that and tried that again last night. Is the "H Planet" a Pianet sample? It sounded a bit different than some things I heard around the web (never heard a Pianet live). So I wasn't sure.

Hi
Don't be fooled by the name "Pianet" : there are several models, which don't sound the same.
Pianet N and Pianet T don' t sound the same, for instance.
The Pianet T sounds great (but here again, one Pianet T can sound rather different than another, dur to the distance between the tines and the pickup, etc).
I am working on a sampleset for the Pianet T, but it is not ready yet...

It's a Kontakt version of this. http://www.sullivang.net/hohner-pianet-t
Just changed the name a bit so as not to get sued.

Why Samples?

Mokafix's Glue Reeds was an excellent physical modelled Pianet... and it was free!

Can't supply a link, but I'm sure it must be available somehow...

Thanks a lot for that link, I tried GlueReeds, it's a nice plugin. I can't judge how close it is to Pianet (I guess the one that I'm really interested in is Pianet N rather than T), but I have nothing against physical modelling (though I do still wanna try/buy a good sample).
I also have 4Front electric pianos that I enjoy. I generally find myself really liking these kinds of slightly gritty organ-like instruments/sounds like Rhodes, Wurlitzer, etc.

Artifake has a free pianet N.

The Redtron is excellent too and also free.

Thanks for that link Space Coyote. The info reads "Planet_N is a recreation of the 'Hohner Pianet N'". There is no other info. Do you know if this is sample-based or physical modelling? I tried it, it sounds nice.
