AFAIK apps will need to be re written to take advantage of low latency for L so I don't think youll see any improvements until that happens. Having said that, Im trying the L developer preview on my new Nexus 7 and so far it looks good. Perfect Piano plays better, Fruity loops is playable, Caustic seems no different.

Supposedly lollipop will make latency very bearable. Like a drumpad in FL Studio mobile will actually be playable live. Excited for this.

Well I installed the official final OTA upgrade to Android 5 on my Nexus 7 2013. So far its good news, things run faster. Compatibility is good with apps. Battery life is better. Heres whats changed thats good for audio:

Samsung are also tackling low latency with Samsung Professional Audio ( apparently this is based on open source code and may be available for other devices), the result by IK is Amplitube and irig :

Samsung is heading the way with low latency, a DAW (Soundcamp) and plugins :
