It's the equivalent of someone coming along and sticking a really shitty, embarassing book amongst your beloved collection of (what you believe to be) fine literature, and supergluing it in place to make sure you can't get rid of it."
The Guardian are they just a bunch of tossers?

Complaining about removing a free album, while on the other hand putting a celebrity endorsement of the new phone at the top of their front page?

If I want to read proper news, how do I remove this fanboi b*llshit blocking the view? :help:

I wonder if there are delay-heavy guitars and predictably epic choruses on just about every song on it? And those gloriously shouty but sterile vocals that get the goosebumps dancing, filling me with the need to give dodgy charities money that they'll spend on their directorship and on funding more fundraising so they can raise some more funds for fundraisers.

You bought into this kinda corporate sponsored shenannigans when you buy an iphone. I shouldn't laugh at other's misfortune but.....hahahaha! :p

I'm off to play a game of nothing on my phone, because it's just a phone.
Q. Why is a mouse when it spins?
A. The higher the fewer.

Apple came out with a quick link that performed the deletion automatically. I think they were ready for a backlash but wanted to generate some hype first. Some marketers and psychologists in Apple's employ most likely derived a best approach strategy for this. They might seem like pointy-shoe beard strokers, but they know what they are doing (okay so they *are* pointy-shoe beard strokers).

It is all about image and hype.

No, in fact, that's the problem, they don't have that stuff. It seems that they are trying to be above that, but to me, they're not particularly successful.

Yeah plenty of that, but it needs more epic for sure.

I think Apple would do a better PR campaign if they listened to this guy and used those 100Million for better working conditions for their workers in the 3rd world:

Apple is included in a list of companies that are notorious for their extreme exploitation of workers (toghether with MacDonalds, StarBucks and Zara, among 40), and the guy in the video is trying to start a worldwide boycott of their products by making people aware of this blacklist.
Funny thing, Microsoft is not on the black ist, it seems that compared to Apple they're almost angels.
I'm all for the boycott, phony charitable Bono included :hihi:

I haven't read much about this new "album art" idea that they're promoting. It's pirate proof!

http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/s ... sic-albums

More about it on slashdot today.

Interesting article here:

http://www.marco.org/2014/09/18/thought ... ic-formats
As for “music that can’t be pirated”, I ask again, what decade is this? That ship has not only sailed long ago, but has circled the world hundreds of times, sunk, been dragged up, turned into a tourist attraction, went out of business, and been gutted and retrofitted as a more profitable oil tanker. Piracy is not the music industry’s real problem and never has been, and we have yet to come up with any audio or video medium that truly can’t be pirated.

How about they have an option where you can pay not to receive the new U2 album. Imagine the millions to be made from such a deal.

“I think it’s going to get very exciting for the music business,” Bono tells Time, “[it will be] an audiovisual interactive format for music that can’t be pirated and will bring back album artwork in the most powerful way, where you can play with the lyrics and get behind the songs when you’re sitting on the subway with your iPad or on these big flat screens. You can see photography like you’ve never seen it before.”

Microsoft not on the list, wonder why?
What about Google,Sony etc.

Sony have always made me laugh
We will sell you a DVD/CD recorder and recordable discs. But how dare you copy any discs on to recordable discs
Apple aren't angels by any count, but nor are many that probably are not on the list.

I got it today off Youtube, it's not bad. As a computer musician, I didn't really want to install Itunes on my harddrive to take up space, or uninstall later and face Window's slowdown.
