iOS 8.02 wifi connection sucks (... on my iPad2)

Everything was smooth and worked perfectly in iOs 7. Now it is like being in a sort of Windows 95 intel 286 nightmare and you cannot even come back (read: downgrade) because Apple stopped signing 7 and wants you to buy the brand new ultraflat retina whatever pad. Is there some solution there, in America? Some class-action or smth?
EDIT: 8.1 update seems to solve the bloody situation

Why did you update then if everything was going smooth.A little research in seeing if you hardware supported the update may have been prudent rather than just saying it sucks .Can you reset your iPad to factory state?
cheers

I am not that expert, and many others. One day I got an automatic "please update ioS" request and just clicked. Isn't Apple "trust us, we do it for you, the best experience, the most evoluted system" etc.? Now my ipad keeps freezing and losing wifi connection. I just would like to come back to 7 (ipad 2 worked perfectly), but I have just discovered it is impossible, so now I must remain in this buggy situation, or buy a more recent ipad. No alternatives? That "no you can't, closed signature" is very arrogant.

I think Apple stopped signing iOS 7 firmwares so that trick is not possible to do anymore.UltraJv wrote:What happened to - it just works ? You can go back to IOS7 :

There will be a way. Im not familiar with iOS but I know about jailbreaks. There will be third party imaging tools out there. It may not be straightforward tho

That is what I don't understand. They introduced iOs8, it was full of bugs, but nonetheless two or three days later they stopped signing iOS 7. Kind of suspicious... Now the (naive) owners of old devices have to buy a new one or wait (... pray) for Apple to be gentle and solve the bugs. With the difference I am not a betatesterGeorge wrote:I think Apple stopped signing iOS 7 firmwares so that trick is not possible to do anymore.UltraJv wrote:What happened to - it just works ? I'm still at 6.1. I don't want a slower iPad!

I don't want to jailbreak it, I just would like my iPad2 to run smoothly. As I said, I did not know about all these bugs and "be careful", Apple never said anything about it. A red dot appeared with an invite to automatically download iOs8, so I clicked "install update", as I have always done since iOs 4 and on. As far as I can see, I am not the only idiot. People with old IPads and IPhones around the world are in the same situation now.UltraJv wrote:There will be a way. Im not familiar with iOS but I know about jailbreaks. In what way does it "suck" ? Ios 8.02 is working fine on both my ipad2 and original iPad mini. (Which is same spec as Ipad2).
Since they are still selling iPad mini original I think it's safe to expect Apple to have ironed out any major performance issues.
Ios 8.1 is out later today, hopefully that will fix your issues.

What is "fine" to you?BiancaNeve wrote:In what way does it "suck" ? Ios 8.02 is working fine on both my ipad2 and original iPad mini. (Which is same spec as Ipad2).
The only information I can find* about iPad 2 + iOS 7.1 is standard apps startup times; and they're average 10-20% slower, and sometimes up to 50% (compared to iOS 6.1)3 But nothing specific about audio apps - responsiveness? CPU usage? Latency?
So are you saying iOS 8.02 improves on that? Do you have numbers and/or sources that confirm this?
*Don't know where I read those benchmarks, I can't find them anymore.

That's why I was asking for benchmarks. Or at least a detailed subjective impression.penguinfromdeep wrote:One says other thing, the one other, who to believe
