I want to open an energyxt VST inside energeryxt but i want the vst to have a different tempo. When i adjust the tempo of the DAW the vst is locked to the same tempo.
Is there a way to turn off the tempo lock?

Unfortunately you didn't name the VST. But almost VSTs (especially with build-in arpeggiators) which are syncable to a DAW has a "Sync to..." option to switch between "internal" or "host" (if necessary). If not, the developers forgot something.

When you add the component 'Sequencer' inside the energyXT VST modular area and then double click it, there will 'Options' be available in the sequencer's main menu at the top. There you can turn off 'External sync'.
