Heya,
https://soundcloud.com/nix808/i-will-modulate-u-8d
Here is a new track of mine.
It's only a bit of a ditty really-
but it's nice to have some new sounds laid down.
Let me know if it is tickling ya-
or what I could change to make you personally dig my sound more.
Cheers- njoy the airwaves

Lots of great wild sounds on this nix808! I like it! Does bring a smile to my dial...
Quirky goodness. :)

Oh!
That's nice to hear :D :D .
I see you have a quirky sort of sound yourself.
Yeah, I tend to be pretty heavy handed on a 3-pole filter's res,
which has become a standard for my tracks-
lending some untamed frequencies.
Cheers Allomerus, hope you find satisfaction in your creations

I'm thinking now-
I really want to get people dancing,
and have recently been played out-
with some success. They are looking for more dance sounds.
I just played this(again hehe), and while I like It-
it's not really for dancing.

I always change the preset params in my plugs-
so I tend to lose my arrangements after some time has passed,
so I want to modify this piece into a mainroom banger.

I will be back later with whatever it turns into this morning.
I'm looking for any feedback on what I should do.

Is it possible to use 88bpm like it is? Will change that first.
Also it is sparse and simple, ie. melodically(just using single phrases)
and arrangement- no fills and risers and risers, automation etc.
I'm looking at these 2 points,
what else can I do to get people's bodies moving?

well, it being a "dance track" i guess the very "mono" sound would not be noticed by anyone
bopping around on the dance floor. but the boomy, muddy low end might. other than that...some cool sounds here and there. m2b

Appreciate the reply Layzer!
It's still mono, but I took out the octaved bass drum for now-
I will modify it into a sub though in the next mix as it sounds nice and round soloed.
Here is the first dance mix->

It's now at 130 bpm, will see what I can do to intertwine the 2 versions.
What should I do?
I'm going to play with these 4-bit drums for sure.

I listened to this 4 or 5 days ago. I prefer the new version. I think that the addition of the percussion and bassline has worked out quite well. The crushed percussion sounds good as do the gated synths. For a few seconds (around the 30 second mark) I thought this might be heading into psytrance territory.

Good work :)

:D

Glad you kinda like it!
It's still WIP, will modify it some.
I have an intensely quality psy-trance collection from 2006,
I stick it on when I want a lift-
so I am somewhat familiar.
From dancing at festivals too.
The way RoughRider compressor worked was that the
gated blown unison thingy reinforced the kick,
and nearly induced a duggag-dugga.
I did a bass test yesterday and noticed that.
I have never been successful at making psy-
any production hints if that is the way you would like this to go?

nice to hear from you

I've never been successful at making any kind of trance, let alone the Psy-variety. I'm just an enthusiastic listener, especially of early IM.
