Hello Sean,
I just recently found this :

based on your knowledge is this the real concert Hall algorithm used on the 224 or a original algorithm created by Datorro?

thank you

This is the Concert Hall algorithm from the 224XL. The sampling rate (34.125 kHz) and the position of the damping filters in the loop is the giveaway.

I haven't verified that the algorithm will work as drown. It looks like there is a difference in the damping filter for the left and right "branches," and I don't know if this is a typo or an accurate reflection of the plugin.

Based on a conversation I had at an otherwise completely boring embedded systems conference in the mid 2000s, I can confirm that Ensoniq reverse engineered Lexicon hardware when creating the DP/4 and other hardware that uses the ESP chips. I had heard that they had worked with a 224, but the diagram suggests it was a 224XL (the 224 had a 20 kHz sampling rate).

The lengthy comments (http://www.convexoptimization.com/wikim ... verberator) associated with this web page are from me, btw. ;)

Thank you Sean :)
yes that's right i've noticed the sampling rate "34.125 kHz" that gives a bandwidth of 15 khz,i'ved but really love the original bandwidth of 8 khz from the 224,it just makes the sound so much "dreamy" and "lush" instant Vangelis :D i don't like that extra "hiss" :)
there is a direct port from that Datorro concert hall in freeverb 3,i will compare it against some impulse responses of the 224 to see how much closer can it get .
Sean are you going in the same direction? in your opinion wich of the VVV algos are closer to the 224 ,including the 8 khz bandwith?

thank you

Dirty Hall, 1970s mode (in the beta version of VVV), is a pretty close match to the Concert Hall B from the 224. I didn't have a 224 available when dialing in Dirty Hall - it was based around a 224XL. However, the 1970s mode has the 8 kHz bandwidth, as well as the weird fixed point artifacts that I heard in the 224XL Concert Hall.
