Does anyone one if there are any alternatives to Steinberg's Cubase Envelope Shaper plug-in? Thanks.

I've never seen the Cubase effect, but at a guess, you're looking for a transient shaper:

Braindoc Envelope-Designer

Michael Gruhn Transient Shaper

Magix am-pulse

These three modify/enhance transients, but are more specialized than the above:

There's also apparently a new one out by Schaack Audio, though I've never tried it:

Thanks for all of the great suggestions...

The cubase Envelope is cool because you can adjust the envelope and see the graphic representation... Anything like that out there?

Thanks.

Is the envelope triggered by MIDI or by incoming audio?

Audio...

I can't think of anything like that with a graphical envelope display. Closest thing I can think of is schwa's Dyno, but it's a fairly different concept from just shaping the transients:

I just abandoned Logic and Cubase... Ableton Live 7 sounds great and it fits my workflow better... ; )

Maybe Amplitude (Multi) Modulator
triggered by Midi though.

I haven't tested this out yet, but it seems to be what we are loooking for (has external sidechain input).

Er...this thread is pretty old, but to the above guy if you want an envelope triggered by audio that can do external sidechain, you can try Equalope - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/347 ... ualope.rar

It has various input tracking modes
