no. We simply don't know yet. But it's good to hear that some things move on PH side.Numanoid wrote:does that imply u-he is not planning Rack Extensions at all in the future?

You'd better change that or people might think it's the holy trinity of comps under a gorgeous gui. Come on, it's not serious...Urs wrote:Pure coincidence!budweiser wrote:This little pictures looks like a la2a, a 1176 and a fairchild...

It's probably been answered somewhere else, but do you plan on introducing more cimpressor models in the future? Like cl1b, ssl, etc?Urs wrote:Pure coincidence!budweiser wrote:This little pictures looks like a la2a, a 1176 and a fairchild...

Professional technicians are assessed by the abilities they possess.
Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

The available views already cover 3 popular tasks: easy 2-knob apprach, classic compression/limiting, and more advanced M/S jobs.masterhiggins wrote:It's probably been answered somewhere else, but do you plan on introducing more cimpressor models in the future? Thing is: The 'vintage views' (as we call them at the moment) are only sort of skins of the regular UI, just to reflect common habits and parameter sets. Under the hood, everything stays the same. All that happens upon selecting any of these 'specialists' is loading dedicated/preselected settings mimicing typical properties.
To point it out clearly: we do not model any of these hardware types, we have different ranges and are far from being spot-on, perhaps. At least we're not interested in sounding close or spot-on. We just want things to sound great.
The views are there for offering the most-used params in order to create fast and pleasing results, without having to fiddle for ages. Once set up, you can always dive in deeper using the Normal view, unless you feel comfortable with it anyway right from the start.

Thanks to responding. So it's not circuit modeled at all? Are they basically algorithms that approximate compressor behaviors kind of like psp oldtimer (except a lot more extensive, of course)?sascha wrote:The available views already cover 3 popular tasks: easy 2-knob apprach, classic compression/limiting, and more advanced M/S jobs.masterhiggins wrote:It's probably been answered somewhere else, but do you plan on introducing more cimpressor models in the future? Although it's got some signature sound and properties to our liking, Presswerk is mainly a compressor construction kit (a bit in the Satin fashion). It's got enough ingredients and degrees of freedom to let you create any kind of compressor you wish.

Looks gorgeous, hopefully it sounds delish I wish Valhalla plugs looked like that
edit: after some testing I think it sounds pretty good. Although, probably not good enough to replace anything I already have.

Did a quick 30-minute test run on drums and it sounds reallly nice (though I'm no compressor expert).

For whatever reason, I was under the impression it was going to be a fixed compressor design. This looks way more interesting.
Much respect for Sascha and u-he, so my hopes are high. Off to install

Quick question; is there a lookahead, or any way to achieve a similar result?
edit - nvm; turning sidechain delay to a negative value

Looks wonderfull!
I have 2 questions:
1) Do you plan support linux also (i know there is beta test with podolski now...)? It would be amazing as i´ve stopped using windows.
2) Is there autogain? I think it is amazing function for dynamic and filter processors.

autogain? ... you must be referring to the Auto Makeup button near the thresh / ratio controls.

i loooooooooooooooooove u-he, but please someone tell me why we need so many compressors on the market ?
it's like eq's, people say there is not really much difference (when coding is well?), so i still stick to my go-to parametric eq from fl studio, compressorwise i got my recccomp from waves and dunno yet what this will get more than other comps?
no badmouthing, only let me know what im missing on the market
and again, i only write it here and not in other compression topics cause i always checkout u-he stuff !
