Hey guys

Need your input here, I'm looking a new grain delay and Discord 3 seems interesting. But since there's no demo, how good it is as a grain delay? How is it compared to the other grain delays around? Like it?

I already use Argotlunar & the Ableton Grain Delay, so do you think getting Discord will be redundant & useless with these 2 already in my set-up?

Thanks for your time!

Anyone? No one is using Discord & have nothing to say about it? ...I don't believe it! :P

Cheers guys

Hmmm; D3's main focus is as a pitchshifter, the delay is secondary to that. Not sure if that makes a difference to you or not.

Hmmm but there’s a granular delay mode for more experimental delays and such, no?

Damn! If there was a demo….

There's a granular mode for the pitchshifter stage, and a delay stage, with feedback from the delay into the 'shifter, but Im not sure if that's close enough to being a granular delay for you... Not saying it wouldnt be useful, but just in case you were expecting something different.

The manual, in case that helps...

Nope, simply because I’m on OSX. Nice suggestion though, might help someone else reading the thread. Thanks!

Even if commonly labeled as a pitch shifting tool, it totally seems capable of massive granular delay… Starting right at 3 :35 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzc2IkVikdY

Audio Damage’s policy mentions they offer a 100% no-questions-asked return policy for 30 days from the purchase. Since there’s no demo, seems like a pretty cool deal, I think I’ll jump in and give it a try.

Before buying anything, I suggest you take a look at SampleSumo's SaltyGrain: https://www.samplesumo.com/product/saltygrain I've spent many hours tweaking new sounds with this thing. It's fantastic. Other than that, I would agree that Audio Damage makes great plugins that are very reasonably priced.

It's the only AD plug-in that I returned. It had some internal distortion I found ugly sounding and I get about as much of this type of effect as I need in Reaktor.
