Hi eveybody,
So many people like the "Ambience" reverb, but the "Size" parameter (probably RoomSize) doesn't work. When I fiddle the knob, nothing happens.
Am I stupid or is this parameter disabled since Ambience is freeware?
And all the people, who likes this plug, are the only using some presets?

Turn down the time knob in decay section.
Yes it doesn't work like others, it change the sound in strange ways

If you really want to hear what size button does, try this:
Time: 9 o`clock, as you did
Dry: -inf dB, all the way to left.
Wet: 0.0 dB
Use a sharp transient sound, like a clap or rim shot.

Using send?
Sorry I didn't said in my previous post: insert it directly in your track.
Yeah, I know, reverb is supposed to be used as a send, but to hear what the size knob does, inserting it directly in your track is the only way to really hear what it does.

Thanx,
now I hear a difference, but why doesn't change the size of the room, but the kind of the room?
And why one have to decrease the time to hear the difference?

I really have no idea.
It doesn't work like others, but I like it's sound better than, for example, Live 8's reverb.
I'm no expert on reverbs by any means, but for free, it does the job for me.

Silverspike's Roomachine 844, an oldie but goodie, does some very nice small rooms. Although not actually transparent, I like it a lot and use it specifically for that. For drums I use Modern Spacer; when testing a lot of freeware reverbs it gave me some very nice sounding drum room reverb. TAL reverb, especially v2 (different versions sound different) is my goto for vocals and can give some nice ambiances. It's the best free Plate-reverb emu tmo.mysticvibes wrote:such as?
CrimsonWarlock aka TechnoGremlin, using Reaper and a fine selection of freeware plugins.
