Thanks for the heads-up on that video which was really interesting. It is one of my all-time favourite albums and I always enjoyed the Ninth Wave on the B side more than the singles, so it was great to have some insight into how this concept piece was conceived and recorded.
There is a DVD of the same documentary available on Amazon for those that cannot record it or via chromedreams.co.uk

Well it was good - nice to see Viv from the Slits in there, and Natascha Khan (who is also awesome). A bit bemused why they had no mention of Cloudbursting? - it really should have been longer and given more time to the music. I think the point that Trickey made she is so unique it's hard to see who influenced her, and that she's like a genre all to herself is so true.

It's OK - parts of it are lovely, parts don't hang together as well as some of her other works though - I prefer The Dreaming, along with Hounds of Love, The Kick Inside and The Sensual World.robojam wrote:Interesting to see people cite Aerial as their favorite album. It's the only one I don't have, and I really need to invest in a copy.
It still blows my mind how a 15 year old can write a song like The man with the child in his eyes - such a mature work. And she was so ahead of her time as a performer too.

Saw the BBC documentary the other night. Lapped it up!
I had those Athena posters of Kate & Debbie Harry on my walls as a teenager. We won't go into that too far ...
I had no idea that Dave Gilmour 'discovered' her. All I knew was his great playing on 'Rocket's Tail', years later.
Totally agree about 'The Man with the Child in his Eyes'. Astonishing talent.

Bet I've listened to The Sensual World a thousand times. Funny, It's the only KB album that I have. I need to get busy I suppose.
