Have been trying this out - incredible work, it sounds great!
Thought there's room for improvement on the useability front, though - could the GUI be rearranged into more logical rows & columns along these lines?
So the controls for each operator occupy a row of a table.
It'd make the interface a lot more clear / streamlined / intuitive / readable / whatever. and reduce redundancy on the labeling. Plus, sliders are much easier to understand and compare at a glance.
There's a history of DX7 editors being laid out in rows:
Also, a popup menu for selecting algorithms would be authentic, useful and i imagine fairly straightforward to add. This came with the TX802:
Thoughts?

It such a shame that that DX controller didn't get a proper release, it was only used by Eno?peterjsd wrote:There's a history of DX7 editors being laid out in rows:

I think it was almost more of a DIY thing - only 25 ever made and by 'Jellinghaus', not Yamaha.Numanoid wrote:It such a shame that that DX controller didn't get a proper release, it was only used by Eno?
Here's Eno's, auctioned off in 2005.

New GUI is pretty nice, but yes, this is an ideal interface.peterjsd wrote:Have been trying this out - incredible work, it sounds great!

That's a beauty – an interface that positively invites tweaking. I'd certainly appreciate a GUI following (closely) along those lines.peterjsd wrote:Have been trying this out - incredible work, it sounds great!

I already pointed this out a couple of months ago, even before the creation of the current GUI: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5#p5877240peterjsd wrote:Have been trying this out - incredible work, it sounds great!

I agree this is almost perfect as a GUI, but you have to realize this is a design of Propellerhead

I doubt that there's any chance they'd port their REs as long as Reason has users. It would be nice, though.electro wrote:Propellerheads were very dumb to refuse a VST port for PX7

I also would like this feature addedfmr wrote: But I agree with the operator On/Off switch (could be the Operator Number, which would turn darker when off). That is something I wished I had many times, while editing.
