Hey, gang -
Enjoying getting to know my 'Zeh-brahhh'
Enough with the semi-philosophical 'meanderings' for now.
Enclosed is a patch for Jeff Beck's "There and Back" bass line Arp.
It could stand a shade more 'definition' with the Arpmod filtering and velocity.
But is it "giggable?" Could you pull it out of the box and use it tonight? Yubet!
Playing notes - as in: 'how does the tune go?' are included (and some source notes).
It's "give back time!" I love you guys!

Even though it's 'weird' to reply to your own post, I can find no other recent topical location to post this...
In retrospect, there are several other existent patches that could be used for this SEQ ('Star Cycle' on There and back, for the sake of completeness) that would consume less frequency 'space' and be punchier.
Am I to assume that the ability to save just SEQ data alone, as a separate file name, is still non-existent or a WIP?

DynaMoHum,
I have yet to try your patch, though Star Cycle is an awesome song. This forum is good to share patches on, thank you!

Cool patch!! I played around with it for about 20 minutes, making numerous tweaks, made my own version. Over 30 years ago, I made a cover version of Star Cycle with a Moog Opus III and a Sequential Circuits Pro One (on a 4 track cassette recorder.....or was it a regular cassette deck?). My recording didn't sound half as good as the original tune. It wasn't until a couple of years ago did I find out Jan Hammer played on the original when I saw them playing a live version of the song on youtube.

Glad you liked it, aaron!
I purposefully didn't spend more than an hour constructing it. It becomes a "diminishing return" kinda' thing, for a simple bassline for a standard "shred fusion tune" from back-in-the-day when people played their instruments!
We have all this wonderful technology - it's mind-boggling! And it sound awesome! And yet it appears that the ability so few is really up to the task of the wealth of musical uses for it, it seems.
I was an early MIDI adopter in '82-83 too, as I'm sure you were as well. We had to work real hard to eek out all we could from our gear...and I grew up in SoCal, so I was in the thick of it.

I bought a Roland Juno 106 in 1984, my first MIDI synth (and sold the Opus III quickly thereafter). Though I did not use any MIDI until years later. I still have it even though it stopped working in 1991. I didn't want to spend the ~$200 to fix it, but kept it for sentimental reasons (I played in several bands in the 80's). Even though it is still a popular synth, I think most of its sounds sound thin to me now (listening to old recordings I did with it).
Edit: Using the modified Beck patch for a new song I'm mostly done with. The notes in the arp are quite different than Star Cycle after I changed it.

In retrospect, I'm not real happy with the patch I created/modified for that patch. It sounded pretty good - until I put on my Sony MDR-7506 "cans" (pretty industry-standard) instead of my bookshelf type middle-of-the-road PC speakers...
Mustn't do that again, if I'm gonna' throw a patch out into the "ether"
I saved the SEQ though...
Yeah, I was never real impressed with the Juno-106. My Juno Gi is pretty cool, great sounds and very portable for "staples" when I gig (occasionally, not much, these days - I miss SoCal). Don't really care for Texas.
When I bought my D50 in '87 though, I made enough gigging just weekends with a couple of different bands, for it to pay for itself in a year/year-and-a-half - I still have it.

DMH,
I use the same exact headphones, and I dig your patch. I lived in Fort Worth for three years, long ago, moved back to Los Angeles county (all while a child). Even wrote a song (mostly guitar-oriented) about it (though the drums are all Korg TR-Rack):
