Would it be possible to implement using the mapping generators as a trigger input for envelopes? Imo, the mod seq's are not very useful at all, as you only get 1/2 the amount of triggers as there are seq steps - given that there are only 16 steps, that's highly limiting, and not the best use of the module when it can be used for other, much more creative things.
Using the mapping generator would be much more flexible, powerful and generally useful imo. I'm always bummed out that most synths don't have a way to trigger envelopes internally, and although Bazille has the seq mod, and LFO's, it seems to me that the mapping gen's would be the most powerfull. They have a longer length, and unique sequences can be created, neither of which you can achieve with the seqmod/lfo.
thoughts?

+1 for gwok's suggestion. Been patching again lately, and noticed I often wish I could do this.
Here are some more patches:

I definitely feel the crunch when being forced to use part of the seq for envelope triggering... I understand the intention was to encourage people to think in more creative ways than just "oh look lets create a generic 16 step plucky bass sequence" but it does feel quite limiting at times. Mainly because the sequencer is so powerful that I want to use it for other stuff too... hell I could use a 128 step sequencer all the way along the bottom...gwok wrote:Would it be possible to implement using the mapping generators as a trigger input for envelopes? Now that the subject of more triggers is back I would like to bump a request I made two months ago
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 7#p5884267
So, here is my request, again.

The only comment this got at the time was an enthusiastic endorsement by Mr Heckmann, but no promises of quick implementation because of time/space constraints.[...] It just would be the addition of another envelope trigger: allow some envelopes to be gated by a chosen CC#. Say gate on when said CC is above 64. Actually you could have two versions of that option, one-shot and looping. Obviously this option should be disabled on the envelope that controls volume.
Although this option would probably be used more in monophonic mode, it is perfectly compatible with polyphony.
Another suggestion is to be able to trigger an envelope on keyup. This should also be easy to implement, shouldn't it?
And now we're at it, what about allowing resyncing an LFO on such a trigger CC? [...]
So, here is my request, again.

ted,
I liked your drum with filter tweaking. And R2D2 with Flidd. And swamp. And City of Light.
