Second one in two days tonight - I just arranged to pick up a Schecter Omen 6 for $120 tonight. There's also a small Fender amp being thrown in, but not sure what it is (or if I'll even keep it)

Post

Remember that clip I made of the 7 string? Actually I think the tone was shit, but I was just going through stuff and found it and thought "man, I really miss being able to do that"

But I'ma wait until next year. I'm about 98.2% sure of what I want :hihi:

My beloved 1520 (the "swimming pool blue" one) has become my favorite guitar. It was always good, but a while back I redid the fretboard with gorgomyte and it's been STELLAR!.

Anyways, I'm not sure about the neck pup though :( The bridge is fine, but it's "IBZ" which means if I change the neck pup, it will look funny :x )

The neck pup issues are it's a bit too hot, and doesn't have the sparkle I really desire. It's not muddy though. I have 0.0 percent clue what I'm going to do, but since I'm playing it a couple of hours EVERY DAY, little things like this bug me. I'll probably not do anything (since it's just nearly perfect w/o modification) but it's got me thinking

I hope for a 12 string Schecter to be made.

I want a beautiful inlay. Like vine of life.

i'm in the market for an amp head - i'm not sure if i should go for the versatility of the Line 6 DT25 or the juicy goodness of the Orange OR15.

thoughts?

Post

The OR15 is very much a one trick pony. If you love that trick, it's probably not something you're going to get out of the DT25.

thanks for the speedy reply :)
have you any idea if there's any major differences/problems in the way they respond to pedals? i use a few fuzzes and octave/pitch things and i'm always running my guitar through a stone deaf pdf 1.
sorry for all these questions but the nearest store is many many miles away and i don't drive

Post

Judging by the sound examples of the Stone Deaf PDF 1 on their site, I'd say you'll probably really like the OR15 if you like those sounds. It's really sludgy and garage-y, just like those tones. It should be a good fit.

Pete Thorn is awesome

Post

No fair UncleE Pete Thorn could make a matchbox and dental floss through a light bulb and a piece of cardboard taped to a magnet sound good (would that even work?). Mmm that pedal does sound sweet though.

Back in August I snagged a Suhr. Eh... Fell freakin head over heels, if you know what I mean. Played it so much my right arm got injured, and everybody I know started in with the jerkoff jokes (little do they know that's the wrong arm, mwa ha ha ha). And I'm of course a fool and spend all my money on food and music gear, so I didn't go to a doctor. Doesn't matter my arm is back, so it's time to SLOWLY easy back into proper playing, nice and loose.

Those Suhrs really are everything people say they are, and then some. Except maybe the pickups. Not too hot on the pickups. But the guitar itself... It loves your hands and you can play and half a day has gone by, people are calling you wondering where you are, and your body aches because you haven't moved from the playing position, you're dehydrated, and it all happened so fast. They ought to put a warning on the website or something.

Post

Suhr told me their ML and Aldrich pickups are their most popular. Mine has V54's which I love in the neck and middle but I think I'd prefer a smoother ML or V60LP in the bridge.

Anyway, thanks for watching the video, guys! I'm really proud of our new pedals. :)

This is a TC Electronic Ditto Looper video but check out Paul Gilbert's AC/DC solo at the end:

Alright, I'm just nerding out now. Check out Guthrie Govan's 32nd note strumming:

I love how he's playing a humbucker into an Orange amp yet manages to sounds as stringy as SRV. I think it's the Neumann small diaphragm that's causing that:
