Let's just focus on that instead of arguing about instruments :tu:

This is exactly why I posted Webern's arrangement of the 6 part Ricercar from Das Musikalische Opfer.

Like 2 pages ago.

;)

In any case, I like to consume my Bach in its purest form, the score.

People who need to actually hear it to appreciate it are poseurs.

I engrave the scores in foie gras and eat them with fresh truffle shavings.

And my favourite keyboard concerto.
Absolute genius. That Allegro assai is just incredible.

This piano version elevates the organ piece to new heights, if you ask me.
What a marvellous piece.

No doubt washed down with some 1998 vintage Chateau Latour

Oh, and I prefer harpsichords to Pianos when it comes to contrapuntal parts, but the piano works fine for the more free rhythms of preludes and suites and the like.

And lets face it, playing a continuo with a piano would just be silly.

If you compare the Complete Editions of Mozart and Bach, they are both around 170 Cds.
It took Mozart 35 years vs Bach 65 years to accomplish that.

So i must say they both are great but Bach was a lot slower;-D

It's about quality, not quantity.

But at Bach's time CDs were still recorded in 8 Bit at 11 Khz, so he actually produced twice as much compared to Mozart, no?
