Cool idea, the controller(s) look very nice...but IMO too pricey for what they are. Now if one would be able to actually load the synths into these boxes and use them OTB... that would be a different (and awesome) story. Like some sort of TAL System-1 desktop unit...and of course way cheaper than Roland's version, heh...

It is actually based upon the Teensy 3.1 (a similar concept to the Arduino - but different components). So my initial thought that this might be a "midibox" type solution (custom controller) wasn't too far off.
The market seems to boom in that section lately.
Still, the kit is a bit pricey - even though this looks like a cool controller add-on. But nothing more IMO.

Really cool, but personally, I'd be more inclined to spend that sort of moolah on an actual hardware synth, and stick to my existing controller to control my Tal Synths.
It is neat to see these custom controllers for soft synths though; You won't get a real SH-101 for anything close to the 300 Euros or whatever this device + soft synth costs

I appreciate what they're doing, but this is exactly the kind of synth that works perfectly with a remote sl or nectar already.

Definitely sexy and tactile but a decent sized touch screen is considerably cheaper than that, couple it with some Tuna knobs .....

Very good work. I also must whine a little. I think the most important part is missing: The sequencer. However it is nothing for me, I think the price is fair.

True. I only can justified a controller for one plugin if it looks exactly the same like the GUI.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Definitely sexy and tactile but a decent sized touch screen is considerably cheaper than that, couple it with some Tuna knobs .....
Then again its a waste of space considering you can have the same with a little time and effort (mapping any decent controller or using IPad anyway).
Pricewise its a killer but thats because its handmade and for 100 less they send you the components.

True, but for the same money (and even less) you can get a real synth, not just a controller: DSI Mopho, Waldorf Rocket & Streichfett, Arturia Microbrute, M-audio Venom (still available through Thomann), Roland TB-3, Korg Triton Taktile 25, Novation Mininova; The Volcas and Twisted Electrons AY3 are half that price, then there's Atmegatron, PreenFM, SammichSID (and a whole bunch of other DIY mini desktop style types)...all these new. Take into consideration the used instruments market and you have A TON of better options...at the end of the day, it's still just a fancy, but specialised & limited controller... and we're talking about TAL, after all, not NI or Arturia... but then I'm prolly not among their target customer range, sovalerian_777 wrote:Pricewise its a killer but thats because its handmade and for 100 less they send you the components.

Besides the sequencer controls also the buttons and/or faders for the advanced features like e.g. Filter FM seem to be missing.deft_bonz wrote:Very good work. I also must whine a little. Or buy an existing controller and mod it
Here's a nice cheap example
