Hello, Have you looked at the Tribute Series from a few years back. I think they were part of the Studio line. 50's LP for a fatter neck and 60's tribute for thinner. nice guitars selling for 6-700 used, sometimes even less.

I'm a strat guy, but I bought one of the 59' traditional reissues ... it is a great great guitar. That gold top is certainly a looker.
EDIT: Forgot the reason I posted is that some of the old re-issues are solid body and not weight relieved. I find the sustain on this thing much better than some of the new chambered ones. Also, I think the older pickups seem to feed back easier (which helps the sustain).
Here's the 59' being held by the sales rep, who I then snatched it from.

Ugh... but what's up with that auto tuning thing on the headstock. I'm perplexed whether ALL new Les Pauls have that? Like after tuning a guitar for 30 years I would suddenly not want to do that... Maybe I'm getting old.

Hmmm... all the new Les Pauls I was looking at Sweetwater had the auto tune thing on the headstock. Maybe just a limited edition?

I'd rather have the re-issue and the extra $30K+robojam wrote:I'd rather have an original '59...

Surely they offer the models with and without?

I think we should all chip in and give that certain Gibson LP hater a spanking new LP like the newer Alex Lifeson model.
Or we can just send it my way.
