Hey guys,
I've been listening to these guys GABRIEL D'OR & BORDOY and alot of their tracks have this really heavy bass or sub bass, Im not quite sure what it is but would like to know how to make it.
This track you can hear it come in at :30. Its like this pounding bass wave that just drives the song and makes it feel really dark

Sounds like a synth with a rich low end with some serious low passing

And sidechained with the kick, whether it be volume level sidechaining or sidechaining of the lowpass filter cut-off of that bassline or maybe even both.GranvilleSun wrote:Sounds like a synth with a rich low end with some serious low passing
The kick sounds very highpassed and sort of thin (in the first clip at least) so no wonder why that deep bassline fits so well underneat it.
I think the bassline also has a strong (maybe even transparent) limiter placed on top of it to keep it's peaks in check without losing it's boominess.

Yep, low sounds low. No need for spacial positioning. Maybe sidechain compression to duck it out of the way when the kick hits.GranvilleSun wrote:Sounds like a synth with a rich low end with some serious low ypassing

What is it that is creating that sound, would I need a good synth with low end, or could I create it in Massive? I been messing with Kountour which has some good lows, just dunno how I would go around designing it in a synth.
