Or you can just buy the flip top cables for a few pounds.... Personally, I think the colours look pretty nasty!

They claim that only the white version can use the stacked cables. Now that you mention it, that doesn't make any sense at all.SLiC wrote:Or you can just buy the flip top cables for a few pounds.... Personally, I think the colours look pretty nasty!

Yup- mine arrived yesterday (uk)
Haven't had to chance to play much yet- built like a tank, it's a proper synth, a few cheesy presets but a few that show the potential - pads are nice, easy to use..but also deep- good filters- astounding calue for 320 quid (cost of a controller...)
I also have an AR and A4, next those 2 it does sound quite digital and crisp, but it has its own sound, and can run on batteries, also saves live files to SD, so all in all a must have for me!

I made a video of it that I'll be posting soon. It's cool to have so many samples and synthesis types available in an easy-to-use Electribe groovebox and I agree with SLiC about the quality of the sounds. It's by far the most versatile Electribe I've used. Even in the case of those cheesy presets, they're actually good representations of those cheesy styles of music and sound very much like commercial tracks.
There's a weird delay when changing patterns that didn't happen with older Electribes, I imagine that's something Korg will have to fix in an update or maybe there's a setting or way around it that I didn't figure out.

Uncle E, that sounds like a cpu limitation, patch refresh. too much
going on. it is something i noticed on the nord3 - which has got to
b the ideal synth design, everything on rotaries. fingrs x'd tho'.

About half the Electribe 2's knobs are endless encoders, like the Nord 3's knobs. That could be causing the delay?mztk wrote:it is something i noticed on the nord3 - which has got to b the ideal synth design, everything on rotaries.

Didn't that get fixed with the latest firmware update?Uncle E wrote:There's a weird delay when changing patterns that didn't happen with older Electribes, I imagine that's something Korg will have to fix in an update or maybe there's a setting or way around it that I didn't figure out.
Looking forward to hearing more impressions.

All the demos I've heard sound REALLY artificial, cheesy and boxy.
