Want to expand my arsenal with an Transient Shaper / Designer and want to know whcih you prefer and why?
The price do not matter although I love to use freeware however C/R and Dongle protected plugins are out.
Wish y'all nice holidays

Transient from Sleepy-Time DSP Bundle, because it delivers and it's free.

I've tried it too but the sweet spots are rare. I like the overall design but sometimes phase issues happens and also the vca is sometimes very clicky. But thanks.Sluga wrote:Transient from Sleepy-Time DSP Bundle, because it delivers and it's free.

You summed it up pretty well, but personally I always manage to find desirable spot, guess it's highly personal.Autobot wrote:I've tried it too but the sweet spots are rare. SPL's is class and Aiudio Schaak's is good too.

I use sknote's snap. Its minimal but it does what I need it to do. Also fond of bittersweet

Audio Assault has a free transient version available in their downloads and a very good multi band transient available.

Personally, I use P&M Transient Designer, and Waves Trans X Wide and Multi
The Multi is especially rad, with being able to effect bands separately.
I LOVE IT on snares
And I like the Trim feature in the Waves plugs also
One cool method with the multi is to reduce transients in the lows or low mids where they get muddy.... really helps to clean up drums.... A LOT.... especially where a kit is very live
(I have the P&M Transient Designer cause I got it free)

Don't forget to try the Transient Monster from Stillwell Audio.
SKnote has also the Grasso which is more useful for sound design and it's much colourful but it's great if you're after colour.

I've been using NI's Transient Master with good results. However, I recently picked up Vengeance's FX Bundle 2 which contains VPS MB Transient Designer and think I'll be using that full time. It is awesome.
