Korg Legacy Cell not working [SOLVED]

Just got the Korg Legacy Collection. All 64 bit plugins working, except for Cell, which doesn't launch in standalone, and the DAWs can't see it either. I noticed when trying Sonar, it scanned, but like Cubase doesn't actually register the plugin. PT 10 HD lists it, but says "failed to activate this VST module".

Progam claims to be installed ok to the stock location, along with all the products. The Korg VSTs, including Cell, all installed into the same folder on the C drive. Remarkably similar to this thread on the Korg forums - http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... db1a303e17 - which has no answer, sadly. Tried running standalone program as administrator and XP compatibility mode, all to no avial.

Grateful for any ideas, thanks.

Afair you have to install everything (also the ME-X effect plugin). Do you installed it?

Mine runs in the DAW, but has never opened in the stand-alone.
Contacted support but never got a reply.
Honestly have forgotten about even trying to resolve it since I at least get it in the DAW.
Especially since I have a handful of stand-alones that insist on omni channel input unless I run them through the DAW also. (Izotope; Tone2)

All mine are installed, see my previous comment.

Let me know if you get it working though.

I don't have a problem with running Legacy Cell. Standalone is working fine as well as the VSTi, but it keeps forgetting the Midi Learn :x Every time I load it I must midi learn the sliders and knobs :?
I also can't install the 32bit and the 64bit versions. I must choose only one because the first disappears when installing the second! Of course I chose the 64bit.

Everything else seems working fine for me in Windows 8.1 (Sonar and Reaper 64bit).

Korg vsts are weird with MIDI learn -- there's a default mapping that it uses when you fire up a new VST instance and to hell with whatever you want it to be. You can save a MIDI config as a default in P6/MS20 however via the hidden menu you get when you click the Korg logo.

This may be totally different in Legacy Cell but I never use that anyway -- summing stacks in Logic seemed to have made it obsolete imo.

Thanks dumbledog for the hint about MS-20/Polysix. I found it under Save/Load Controller Map, [Edit] and it is the same for Legacy Cell when I click the KORG logo [/Edit].

For me, solved (and - ahem - it was v simple). Unlike the main products, LegacyCell requires a restart to work. And that was all it was.

On the Legacy Cell controllers, take a look at your plugins folder - there's a preferences file which has controller info in it. Maybe you can edit this manually in notepad? (make sure you don't change the file name or suffix of course) Note - I noticed there were dlls in both my VST location and in the Program Files folder. Not sure if you'd need to edit both.

Thanks a lot noiseboyuk :) I found that file. I think editing this file would make it work OK. It is in the VSTplugins folder under the name of LegacyCell.dll.settings. I opened it in Notepad and it is a standard XML file.
[Edit]
But I just clicked on the KORG Logo in Legacy Cell and it showed the menu of Load/Save/Edit Controller Map :smack: -> for me!

If you have two different VSTi's with the exact same name, it'll make available whatever the first plugin it finds, and ignore the rest. Try renaming one of them (like 64 bit or 32 bit) and try again?

Thanks Devon. I'll try that.

OK, maybe this is 12 years too late, but I've had the same issue and think I just found the solution.

You might need to copy the audioio folder and all the other files from the standalone folder INTO the VST installation folder as well. Just worked for me, this has been annoying me for years.

Sorry. Something there worked for me for a brief moment and I thought I had it fixed. It's back to broken again. :-(

It is working fine with me with Maschine and Korg nanoKontrol2. I Midi learned the 8 encoders and faders then I have saved as a controller map. I also set it as a default map so I don't need to load it every time:

My Korg Legacy Cell does not work in Cubase Artist 10. Standalone is okay.

Any idea in which folder I should put the files ( Program Files of Program Files x86, or Steinberg VST plugins,or Common Files,

It makes me dizzy,

Any help is welcome!
